An apparent road rage incident in San Francisco has killed one person and left three other victims with life-threatening injuries.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, citing witness accounts, the driver intentionally ran over five people will with his car before fleeing the scene. The driver has not been arrested.
Police said the incident grew out of a fight between the driver and the five people.
Hospital spokesman Brent Andrew told the Associated Press that three of the five people run over were still in serious condition Wednesday afternoon with one in fair condition.

Property is important. Once upon a time, our much more civilized culture didn’t too much care if someone was shot fatally for “merely robbing his home”. Indeed, our laws now reflect the namby-pamby of “life above all” - even a scumbag can’t be shot once he “turns tail” because, waaaaah, he wasn’t threatening you (your life) *anymore*.
Too much emphasis on life, in many ways. If we had more respect for property in general (which includes one’s life), society would be much better off. Respect is not shown by simply treating a victim like a criminal because he happened to come out on top.
That adjustable seat made his getting into the assault vehicle too speedy. Time to ban adjustable seats!

The Compost pitches a road rage article and will likely never update their readers that it was a busted carjacking attempt.
Then again, wouldn’t surprise me to find yet another story under this latest onion... Probably one that SFGate wouldn’t want to update THEIR readers with... Especially if the accused thieves or the now criminal who drove away are illegal.
