Well....

1. We tried the soap box...and it failed.
2. We tried the ballot box...and it failed.

3. There is one remaining box we have not tried...

Rare voices of cool analysis on yet another hair-on-fire thread. I watched the presser live - certainly looks like Trump was gang rushed by the corrupt Congress, en masse. I would say that mess of a bill was in the works for some time, they were just waiting for the right timing to spring it to get the best shot at cornering him. They flipped the script on Trump, that much is apparent - and he's certainly not happy about it, and not going by just his comments. The fact that there was not a public and typically upbeat and jovial signing ceremony spoke volumes.

Try making your point without the profanity next time.

You use your words, I’ll use mine.

Anyone should, on balance, be thrilled with what Trump has accomplished in 14 months. It easily surpasses what Reagan accomplished in his first 14 months, But, he needs more conservatives in Congress to get the rest of his agenda passed.

I’m never voting for a Republican again. I don’t care if the Democrats win. I don’t see any difference between the two of them anymore. I was willing to support a Trump party, but now I don’t even see any point in that.

The military has enough money. Get more creative and efficient. 800billion until September? How much do they bloody need? If you can’t defend against China and Russia at this point then you never can. This excuse has run its course

We are in a big battle altogether.

That’s the problem. Our leader just gave way to the enemy without lifting a finger to stop it. We can’t battle without him - and it’s clear he’s not willing to battle.

And, no, “I won’t sign any more of these ever!” doesn’t cut it.

“Remind me when Obama screwed over his base this hard.”

Making the Bush tax cuts “permanent” (for the most part).
Never suggesting single payer during the Obamacare debate & adopting the “Republican” (Romney) plan.
Using drones on the battlefield.
Not closing Gitmo.

That’s just for starters ...

There is a LOT that angered his base. Keep in mind that his base calls Bill Clinton “The best Republican president in the history of the USA”.

Giving up on Trump now is ridiculous. This was a terrible decision today (and the Republican Party is beyond dead to me), but it’s not the end of the world. People seem to expect a solid upward trendline when there are going to be many peaks and valleys along the way. It’s called life. Don’t worry ... if he’s truly turned -or- is incompetent, then he’ll be voted out in 2020.

I respect your point of view, I just happen to disagree.
My faith in our President hasn’t waivered over this, I’m looking at a far bigger picture and from a longer view point.
My ire is directed at the Ryan/mc Connell show, two bigger lying cheaters would be hard to find.

This is just gaining steam and I’m willing to see where it heads. President Trump has the authority to not spend that money, and has done so already in the past. I can’t jump overboard with the knee jerk reactions that everything that doesn’t come up roses seems to create. It’s exhausting.

He doesn’t have to worry about it. 90% of his promises just went down the drain over military trinkets. Mueller will be emboldened while Trump’s popularity will tumble. The republicans have nothing to campaign on, so another budget will be worse than this drafted by a democrat. This was a ‘read my lips’ moment.

Yeah lots of democrat imposters here : the goal to get rid of Trump so they can South AFrica us.

When the democrats/marxists come to get these democrat trolls out of their house and give their keys to some immigrant as the marxists are doing TODAY in South Africa they will wish Trump was still president.

The marxists/democrats have been importing 80 million 3rd world poor non-white immigrants since 1065 immigration act precisely for this purpose of taking away our property.

The reason the left keeeps winning is they have 13% of the population , the blacks , brainwashed for them . and the left have the 80 million immigrants also

— I bet Congress is scared to death now that he’s threatened them ... —

~~~~~~~~~~~
I picture Ryan and Romney, and all the other goobers, laughing their butts off at this. They have him by the short hairs, and are plotting the next move to undercut him.
I had to make sure you had your /s tag, pnz1.
Ryan, Romney, McTurtle, ALL of the Dems/goobers are indeed laughing their butts off.
POTUS had THE perfect out, on this stink sandwich, with the d@m$ DACA BS. He could’ve blamed it on that, and not signed it.
I wonder what the confidence/optimism ratings are going to look like.
I know what mine looks like :-(
That's it right there - congress can appropriate 'whatever', but it falls under Executive branch discretion as to whether it happens or not, and by how much. Congress can go around spiking the football, but Trump still has a lot of say in it.
Trump's a smart guy, and while the whole 'xD chess' thing has always struck me as rather silly, what prompted my intemperate response was
Now popping popcorn awaiting the “4-D Chess” crowd...
the unmistakable sense of gloating that conveyed, as if from someone who was pleased to see today's fustercluck.
It's situations such as this that point out the limits of 'communication' in the interwebs.
In real life we'd either laugh and have a beer about it, or take it outside.
But in here, ya just never know, ya know ?
