True enough. They are as self loathing as any Democrat. Anything less than attempted isolation and total surrender to our adversaries is not acceptable to them. Of course aggressive nations like Chicom China and fascist Russia will take exactly as much as we give them.

I prefer armchair isolationists to armchair generals. I think Chickenhawk perfectly describes someone who is entirely too willing to go to war -- but has never experienced the consequences first-hand.

There are no easy answers these days. Will we have to literally destroy NK eventually? If so, might as well do it before they have the ability to nuke us here, but it's not preferable at all. Should we be involved in Syria? No, I don't think we should, but we are.

I've never served, so I'm not going to rattle a saber to send our men (and women now, insane as that is) who do serve to fight and die. Bolton is in the same circumstance, but has no such inhibition as far as I can tell.

Just because he supported some of the Neocon positions over the last couple of decades, doesn’t make him a Neocon.

Hell, I supported some of their positions too, and I HATE Neocons.

He appears to be an American Nationalist, willing to use US power to further US interests. Definitely NOT a do-gooder.

He won’t go chasing the windmills of democracy.

He DOES support a Sunni Kurdistan state carved out of Iraq and Syria. He’s OK if it’s not a democracy in any form. And is willing to use US power to effect it.

He was opposed to Obama’s proposed bombing of Syria to depose Assad...even though he was certain Assad used and would continue to use chem weapons.

He supported the overthrow of the MB in Egypt even though they were elected.
