Its doubtful he would have been confirmed by the Senate for the SecState job. NSA Director is not a position that needs the advice and consent of the Senate.

My concern is now will Mueller go after McMaster and get him to give him dirt on Trump while he worked for him?

Funny thing about the term neocon- it’s typically used as an insult by socialists, international and national alike, to refer to any former comrade who has seen the light and turned on them, especially one who opposes Socialist International’s foreign policy objectives in the Middle East.

Trump campaigned quite clearly as America First. Not America Alone. That the armchair isolation brigade wishfully interpreted that to suit their agenda is on them. POTUS has always been clear he is unafraid to project US power when necessary.

He was quite vocal in his support of what we now call “America First.” You either have a spotty memory or are to young to remember.
He was reigned in by W and eventually that philosophical conflict was resolved by Bolton’s removal.
