Kroger subsidiary Fred Meyer announced they will no longer sell firearms and ammunition.

The superstore has been selling guns and ammo at roughly 45 stores in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska.

On March 1, Kroger reacted to the Parkland school shooting by announcing that Fred Meyer would no longer sell guns and ammo. Nine days later, on March 10, Kroger was sued by 20-year-old Airion Grace for refusing to sell him a box of shotgun shells.

Kroger’s ‘feel good’ decisions will have NO affect on shooters intent on killing people.

I don’t think our Fred Meyer sold ammo or anything related. Mostly women shop at Fred Meyer anyhow. Keep the product where it’s best suited...in gun shops...IMHO. Even Walmart seems an unlikely place to buy ammo, etc. Must be a nightmare with paperwork.

Oh, please....if Kroger’s/FM goes out of biz, it will because of Trader Joes or Aldi’s....or online sales.

I used to shop at Freddies on occasion. They have low gasoline prices, as well.

I guess I’ll have to get my guns and ammo at Western Outfitters, Coastal Farm, Bimart, Walmart, and local gun shops.

The owner of a local pawn shop really likes being in the firearms business. He has a huge selection of new and used. Good prices on ammo.

I’ll miss the bullet bin with the scoops and plastic bags.

Their marketing departments are all staffed with Millenial female snowflakes who earned degrees at Liberal university indoctrination centers and who are addicted to social media.

I think your'e on to something there. You have described the manager of the local Walmart to a T. So many employees have transferred to other stores to get away from her that the regional manager had to ban any more transfers.

Years ago, when buying ammo at the sporting goods counter, there were five other people waiting in line to buy ammo, fishing gear and a rifle. The sporting goods manager came up and screamed at the clerk, in front of customers waiting in line, demanding that he get back to stocking shelves!

That woman is now the store manager, and there is never a clerk in the sporting goods section.

Just off the phone with my dad to tell him about Freddies. He said he just got finished ordering 4-40rnd .223 mags, six boxes of .223 and four boxes 100rnd CCI mini-mags. Total cost with shipping is $109. Shipped to the house all from Sportsman.

No big loss. There’s always Wally’s - but then if you’re not in any particular rush, Sportsman Warehouse is always good. Right now they have a banner on their website stating that due to the increase in ordering your stuff will take a bit longer to process and ship - 10 days right now.

My wife and I use the local Fred Meyer as a large indoor place to walk after work. We often scan the magazine shelves for new gun mags. Fred Meyer pulled all the AR-15 specific mags off the rack. Perhaps an opportunity for the local gun shops to put up a rack for those publications with certainty they won't have competition.

Fred Meyer in Pocatello has ammo and some BB guns. No firearms. The Walmart store is now stocking reloading supplies. Presses, bullets and primers. Didn't see any powder on the shelf. It's a start. Walmart still has ammo and long guns...sans AR-15 style rifles.

Too far from the Seattle area. Nearest Cabela’s is 120 miles away. Sportsman on the internet is okay.

Bing maps says the Lacey Cabela's is 55 miles south from "Seattle". The Marysville one is 36 miles north.

From our/folks house is: 120 miles. We go to the gun show at Puyallup, WA and pass by Cabela’s Exit 111 on I5 and we’re up in the Port Hadlock area. I’ve found that those driving maps are off depending on how you get there.

My grandma, who lost her rifles in a boating accident, now buys her weapons at places like Atlantic Firearms, which ignores the caterwauling from SJWs (Social Justice Weenies).

Local one in Oregon quit selling firearms and ammo a long time ago, then brought them back under Obama.

2 miles to Sportsmanswarehouse for me. Cabela's is 55 miles north in Idaho Falls. Sportsman's Guide has good ammo prices. I scored some WPA 100 gr 6.5 Grendel at a very good price. I didn't know what to expect from the steel cased ammo. It was under 1 MOA from both the AR and bolt action rifles. Have a new Ruger bolt action in 6.5 Grendel (new in the box). Waiting for the range to defrost before topping it with glass and sighting in.
