US 'will fail if it tries to split Europe': Germany

US President Donald Trump “will not succeed” in dividing European nations against one another over trade, German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier warned on Sunday ahead of a visit to Washington.

In the European Union “we are a customs union and act collectively. It cannot be in the interest of the US government to divide Europe, nor will it succeed,” Altmaier told German business daily Handelsblatt. […]

“Companies and consumers on both sides would foot the bill if the US and Europe tumble into a trade war,” Altmaier said.

Meanwhile, countries like China that stand accused of flooding global markets with cheap steel would be “laughing on the sidelines”, he added. …

A full scale invasion of Europe is underway and these idiots are worried about Donald Trump?

Non-Germany Europe is splitting off from Germany and Brussels on their own, no help needed.

The question is best rephrased: What will Germany do when the EU is dissolved because nations pull out?

Germany has tried to “unite” Europe 3 times in the last 104 years. The US stopped them twice and that was without Trump.

Who would want Europe. We have pulled their nuggets out of two fires in the last century at tremendous cost to our youth. We didn’t want any of their land, then, except for a few acres to bury out dead.

1945, and Brexit. Double mic drop

Not to mention Russia’s antics nextdoor. History repeats too much. And once again America “saves Europe from itself.”

That’s not what happened. We had war declared on us, in spite of the efforts of left-leaning leaders in DC (in both cases) to stay out of it. And now thanks to the cumulative efforts of their ideological descendants in DC, Germany thinks they can push the USA around again. Ignoring them a third time could be fatal.

USA saved Western Europe from the Soviet Union after 1945.

I don’t know where that narrative of the USA riding to Europe’s rescue came from. That’s utterly false. In both world wars, we were responding to a very large threat to the USA, and an openly-declared one in WWII. And the left-wing politicians of the USA allowed that same threat to rebuild itself after WWII.

Trump doesn’t need to ‘divide’ Europe, the Open Borders demand of Germany and some others are doing that JUST FINE.

Brexit was before Trump’s time. And other countries suggested their exit before Trump said boo.

Ein Europa, ein Reich, ein Führer!

The only question is who the Führer will be going forward. For now, it's Merkel. But in a couple of decades it could be one of these guys. After all, demographics is destiny.

In the European Union “we are a customs union and act collectively.

They do act collectively (kinda), and from what one observes, almost never in their best interests.

It’s in the interests of one particular country on the continent. Guess which one.

It comes from people like my Grandmother who lived on the Czech/Austria border and faced both Nazi and USSR occupations. Her grandfather killed by Nazis and home was raided by Red Army twice. And people like my Grandpa, who grew up in France.

Stop denying America of the credit due her.

"That’s not what happened."

I don't understand. What didn't happen? We were giving aid to England long before war was declared on us. I remember when W was Pres. and France was acting up and Powell went to them and said that all we wanted was some ground to bury our dead.

Plus there was the Marshall plan the cost billions to rebuild Europe. Some has been repaid and some hasn't.

Don't forget the Berlin airlift to keep Berlin from starving after the Soviets blocked all land entries.

Just saying.

Someone tell this old farmer that their is no split if you trade with us fairly.

We’re just not going to let you take advantage of us any longer.

Over the last century, a great deal of the wealth of the United States has been transferred to Europe, either through unfair trade, aid, or defense.

Those days are over.

There are quite a few European armed forces joining under Germany’s military command. The Mahometan issue is designed to keep the populace off balance while they grab more and more power at the top, and to induce demand for a radical solution to that problem the politicians created.

Fuhrer Merkel is uniting Europe under a policy of welcoming invasion by hordes of homicidal savages.
