Scientific American continues on its activist leftward path, diluting its scientific brand by transmitting biased anti-gun propaganda under the cover of academic sociology.
The latest entry was posted Wednesday and has become a popular post: “Why Are White Men Stockpiling Guns? -- Research suggests it's largely because they're anxious about their ability to protect their families, insecure about their place in the job market and beset by racial fears.”
If that headline wasn’t a giveaway, writer Jeremy Adam Smith's bio left little hope for an objective take: “....author or co-editor of four books, including The Compassionate Instinct and Are We Born Racist?”
After pointing out that “Since the 2008 election of President Obama, the number of firearms manufactured in the U.S. has tripled....” Smith asked “So, who is buying all these guns -- and why?”
His answer, boiled down: Dumb racists.

I remember when Scientific American was a sophisticated magazine with unbiased articles. Now it appears it’s editorial staff is transpired into a bunch of leftist slobs. I didn’t think I’d ever see such a trash article as this in Scientific American. The old staff would have fired the author of such junk immediately, and without publishing it.

We’ve been down this road before. The second amendment protects all of the rest. If these communist wannabes really want to attempt the disarming of Americans, they’re in for a rude awakening.
That is just another reason why I dropped my subscription to this publication, even so they had some great articles. But when it comes to politics I noticed that the gates were down but no train ever came, a characteristic problem of the left. Always making a point and stressing that there is no need for any guns up to the point when eventually the government tells you to jump and the only question you are allowed to ask is “How high and how far?” And by then it is too late and history is full of examples. Of course we always get the answer that this is something what never can happen in this country, oh really?
Does Lois Lerner ring a bell ? Or as far as this goes Obama Care which was forced down our throats, just for starters and as a beginning. Unfortunately a good portion of the general public is too ignorant if not outright dumb to realize when the noose around their necks is being drawn tighter and tighter. Fortunately we got a reprieve when Trump was elected, but the question remains what happens after his term expires, is this nation going to continue on it descent in to the abyss of failed socialism?
Since the majority of “college diplomas” aren’t worth the paper they are printed on these days, it “offends” and “triggers” me when one of these uneducated, snowflake bastards call ME “uneducated”.

I have gotten the same line. BSEE from NJIT, licensed professional engineer, 2 patents, and I get told by some libtard government employee that I had just a second grade education.

Spending 4 years at university being brainwashed by leftists in order to walk out with a degree in women’s studies while raking up 100k in debt is NOT synonymous with being smart.
A good plumber, electrician, roofer, painter etc. is a zillion times more valuable to society, and his opinion should be considered much more compelling, than some “educated” fool.

When people spend their lives telling you they’re going to DO something to you, you should believe them. They MEAN it.

I suspect these are men who are not wealthy enough to live in good neighborhoods with safe schools cough-cough. They most likely face diversity every day and are just bring practical. Life teaches you many lessons.
I had not read Scientific American for 25 years and recently thumbed through a copy in the dentists office. I was shocked. Nothing scientific in the way I remember the magazine. All left propaganda and editorial. Never to be read by me again.
I noticed that too. Always trashing the American nuclear
arsenal; describing it as "destabilizing" or "provocative".
They never described the Soviet nukes that way.
Never any criticism of the Soviets. Scientific American
became nothing but politics and Soviet propaganda.
And not to mention that it stopped being "scientific" and
started to turning into environmentalist, political left-wing garbage.
Isn’t the latest National Geographic issue an apology by them for being racist over the years?
That probably includes police officers who are on patrol in certain inner city neighborhoods in places like Chicago, East St. Louis, Detroit, and New Orleans. Are their fears illogical?
If so, why does their police department issue them weapons?
As the sale of various guns are outlawed, those who buy now will have theirs legally until confiscation, which is a very different thing from outlawing sales.
Also, those “extra” past gun buys will become good investments.
Ever heard of black markets?
