Former Attorney General Eric Holder is among the high-profile people who are speaking out on the firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
Since Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe two days before he was set to retire, Holder said the decision was cruel at the very least but warned it's also dangerous to “please an increasingly erratic President”:

That looks very much like a threat on AG Sessions' life. Jeff better double his guards.
Exactly what I was thinking. The louder they make their protests, the closer I think they are to being exposed themselves. This goes for Holder, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, and a host of others.
The other thing I’d note is that the stories coming from the opposite sides of this aren’t just differences of opinion. They are diametrically opposed sets of, what should be, objective facts. When the full, objective truth is out, one side is going to be exposed as seditious, treasonous and criminal. And I don’t think it’s going to be Trump’s side.

The way it looks now with one firing and no indictments in 15 months, they just have to bide their time. Rosenfeinstein has got their backs.
