The wheels of civil service removal turn very slowly. In my agency you almost have to push the commissioner off a bridge to get removed. Or lie. That integrity thing will get you every time.
If Sessions fired McCabe 6 months ago, would the media have reported it? Not only are we in a culture war with the left, it is even a bigger one with the media. Maybe, just maybe, the reality star knows how to play them and did it not raise the intensity of intrigue?
Then, just when even goofs like Cernovich were reporting as fact that he would not be fired, bammo! If the sleep-walking general public is to understand this opening salvo, it has to be played like a reality show for them to take notice.

Specifically with McCabe, he made the point: A lot of these things go to the last minute, because that is the way it is in Government bureaucracy in all things.
Some government entity will have 100 days to do something, it is never going to come in with time to spare and under budget. Never. It will take 99.999% of the allotted time, and cost four times as much, often never achieving the goals set out.
I’d prefer things happened faster too, but the timing is perfect on this one. Let him get *this* close to that gleaming, candy-like, solid gold, platinum plated, diamond encrusted federal pension and then can his ass. Too bad they won’t cane his ass for good measure.
Only thing that would make sense is if you let them think they can keep their job they have to cooperate with the IG. If a prosecutor falls to them they can plead the fifth.
Get them on record via the IG. Them prosecute after the report is finished. Or get them to flip to get a bigger fish.

Sessions already indicated publicly he has hired an experienced prosecutor from outside Washington DC to ‘review’ these matters. I suspect this prosecutor has been working for weeks (if not longer) and will start handing out indictments soon after the IG reports drop.

Sundance has pointed out that that the FBI Inspector General cannot put people under oath, only outside investigators can do that. Yet McCabe was fired for lying under oath...so maybe more is going on than meets the eye.
Had to be done with cause..... the IG report took care of that.... now they will flip him and go after Comey and others....

Trump could have fired him a long time ago. Waiting for 2 days before retirement send a powerful message to those opposed to Trump.
