The timing is extremely significant. It is, after all, essentially the last day before McCabe ran out the clock (given the weekend). This happening today is no accident, it's a message. And I don't think the loss of the money is the principal issue, I think the loss of prestige is. On Tuesday morning McCabe was going to do his little "I got away with it" dance, and everyone in DC who was watching would have been chuckling with glee. The loss of that is the real blow.
He's out of the In Crowd either way, but at present the only thing that's holding him from the utter oblivion of being cast out of the Beltway Insiders altogether is what he has on the rest of that crowd. It may buy him a lot of under-the-table money or a sinecure on CNN, but it won't buy him back the prestige. And now he's a liability.
I’m hoping you are right. Think Sessions has been doing more ‘behind the scenes’ than is realized. So many here LOVED Sessions and loved when Trump chose him...but now they bash him constantly. ?? The drain does run slow...but perhaps it is finally starting to unclog a bit.

I’ve been watching AG Sessions since before he was a Senator. In AL, as a Federal Prosecutor, his nickname was “Silent Assassin.”
He pretty much proved that nic to be true tonight.
Frankly, from my years of watching AGs, and how they should behave, AG Sessions has been exemplary.
He IS heroic, given the state of affairs we’ve seen as far as accountability is concerned for many decades now.

I don’t remember bashing Sessions but I have had my doubts.
Earlier today I though I saw some reports that said Trey was on to replace as AG.
Left for maybe 2 hours and now McCabe is fired.

I want to trust Trump and I have since I heard what he said
when he first declared.

It’s is a lot of fun and very interesting but then I’m

I want to trust Sessions but actions speak louder than words.
I know these things need time to go through steps but
it’s hard to be so trusting. These are our lives.
We know children and babies are dying. We want action now to stopped the killing.

Sessions is just a puppet on a string here. His people told him “this is what you need to do,” and he danced out there and made a perfunctory announcement. He really didn’t have a choice. This is not a man of strength and virtue based on this action. It was “go to the freezer, get the box!” But I am glad he did it, because it was sorely required. You guys who think Sessions walks on water need to see the stepping stones just below the surface. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but I just wonder about the intellect that gets you there.
