Lamb’s down to 0.2% lead, or about 400 votes, as of 2:30 pm Jerusalem time.

I just said it on another thread about this race.
We MUST get involved in our local GOPs to help do all we can to put up better candidates.

I for one have complained without actually doing all I could. Several years ago I went to a few of the local GOP meetings to try to get involved. But I didn’t see much going on so fell off from it. Felt my time better spent with family, etc. That was in the dark days of obambi. Now, I know getting involved and getting things changed is the best thing I can do for my family.

Remember, God calls imperfect people — and there are no perfect people. So that means you too!

Fat Toad Stirewalt

One of my favorite memories of Stirewalt (who I don't especially like and consider him less knowledgeable about politics than my own fine self) is the night of the Trump/Clinton election.

I will never forget how it was early in the evening and he was doing some kind of analysis that was always wrong.

As he did his incorrect state-by-state analysis he mentioned Pennsylvania. He threw in some comment about IF TRUMP WERE TO WIN PENNSYLVANIA....then in a snarky undertone he sniped "like that's going to ever happen."

I'll never forget. That same night Trump won Pennsylvania and I've lost any respect for Stirewalt that I might have ever had.

Reposting from similar thread:
Someone on Fox right now is saying Saccone would vote along Dem lines because he is not a Trump supporter. The other guy, Lamb, is more likely to support Trump’s agenda.
If this is so, then we now know why the election is so close.

Come on. Trump campaigned heavily for Saccone, who said “he was Trump before Trump was Trump.” He was 100% supportive of Trump.

Trump called Lamb, “Lamb the sham”, “He’s not going to give me any votes...”.

Come on. Trump campaigned heavily for Saccone,

Probably the only thing that actually made it close.

Whoever said that is an idiot. Saccone is 100% conservative. Lamb is a lying ass who claims to be something he’s not. He will vote exactly how fellow baby killing “Catholic’ tells him to vote.

Lamb is not pro-life. You can’t be “personally opposed” to abortion but support the party of death. Conor Lamb is a CINO “Catholic in name only” who throws God under the bus for politics. He’ll get along fine with the other “Catholic” baby killers. @frfrankpavone @IngrahamAngle

Thank you for that info.
I had forgotten about that entirely. I only got to watch his speech on in PA in passing. VERY GOOD INFO to remember.

So that means that lady on FOX saying Saccone would vote more DEM was completely wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time!

Please disregard my previous post.

Someone reminded me some things Trump said in PA supporting Saccone. So that means that lady on FOX saying Saccone would vote more DEM was completely wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time!

“Again, rather have someone who agrees with our side 70 to 80 percent of the time than not at all. And dems are not at all.”

You and I would agree. There are plenty of folks inhabiting FR that disagree. These would be the believers in the one party concept. There’s not a dimes worth of difference between Dems and Reps. In my mind the I’ll show you concept by voting dem or not showing up to vote, is a losing concept but it is difficult to sway the one party types. They have seen all they need to see.

I believe the real issue is with those elected to public office that almost never agree with a republican form of Government or with Republican Party Principles. In reality they should have a D next to their name instead of an R, and the R party lets it slide.

Thank you. That is what I am hearing now. That the person on FOX who said Saccone would vote DEM lines was totally wrong. While I 'should' be surprised nobody challenged that when she said it on FOX, I am not. It was someone I haven't seen before. Some 'expert' analyst . That should have told me all I needed. Not that it matters, but she was about in her 20s or 30s, pretty, with long blond hair. So be on the look out! But that describes most of them on FOX anymore. But this one I haven't seen previously.

A good candidate doesn't allow for others to define him. That's a lesson there.

A lot of these GOP meetings are just social gatherings where little of a political nature is even discussed.

That may be so, but this election was lost due to messaging. Even a great candidate would have done poorly with the messaging used in this race.

2016 happened because Trump did something different.

This race republicans and the GOPe did the exact same thing they have been doing for at least 15 years. Literally the ads could have been for any R in any election for the past decade and a half.

They Trump I and D voters didn’t show up for that message ever, to think they would now was stupid. The establishment still doesn’t get 2016. And if the messaging used here is their plan for the fall they will easily lose the house.

“A lot of these GOP meetings are just social gatherings where little of a political nature is even discussed.”

In my district here in the Twin Cities, we have a lot of delegates who are exactly that - socializers and elbow rubbers, not campaigners and activists.

Here is the latest I could find at Google. Opinion of author is that there are not enough uncounted absentee, military, provisional ballots left to change the outcome away from Lamb.

Looks to me like it would have been a GOP win if the Libertarian weren’t in there.
