Pelosi: ‘I Eat Nails for Breakfast, Don a Suit of Armor’ to Fight Inequality

On Friday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had a message for progressives unsure about her commitment to economic equality.
Pelosi was speaking at the Progressive Caucus Strategy Center Summit when she said her top motivation is bringing children out of poverty. She then compared herself to armored warriors who "eat nails for breakfast."
"My motivation is: one in five children in America lives in poverty. I can’t handle it. I just can't handle it," she said. "So every day I eat nails for breakfast and don a suit of armor to go out there and fight for the kids, because that is about everything, that is about the future."
Pelosi's net worth is estimated at more than $100 million, largely on account of her venture capitalist husband Paul Pelosi, and she owns three luxury homes.
In her remarks, Pelosi said Republicans’ budget proposal to provide more safety to schools was immoral because it took money out of Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Title I provides additional funding to schools that have a higher percentage of students who live below the poverty line.
"We do not have shared values," she said of Democrats and Republicans. "This is different. We used to have shared values and different approaches. [Now] we don’t even have shared values."

Let me tell you. My mother’s best friend was a genuine Italian in Baltimore. Also a prominent family, though not nearly as vaunted as d’Alessandro.
She is still best friends with her, though we all live in the county now.
Her friend is DEFINITELY Italian, and I could tell just to look at her.
Nancy, not so much. Must be way-north Italian.
And her friend is much more a lady, and much more “with-it”, shall we say?
I wish she’d learn how not to be seen.
Somebody check her bowl of nails for lead.

Shes not eating ANYTHING but at the finest, most luxurious and expensive restaurants that tax payer money and political donors can pay for.
If we use the same metric as the left (against Trump), this makes Nancy a LIAR!

The Rats also promote immorality and other liberal values such as single parent households that lead to poverty.
Nancy eating free range nails cooked by her personal chef isn’t going to help.
That does explain her ill humor.
And what political party put those children into poverty?
I wonder how her personal chef prepares them. Served on the veranda of her multi-million dollar mansion? Do her servants dress her in her custom Italian tailor made suit of armor?
Nails, huh? From the looks of her, I would have guessed formaldehyde...
perhaps she could try snails for breakfast like the dummy in Australia.
Cuba, Venezuela, or the Soviet Union is what equality looks like - a few elites have it good and EVERYONE else suffers in relative equality.
People want the inequality that comes with freedom.
The inequality of leisure: I’ll work 60+ hours a week when clients want. Many people only work 40 because they want nights and weekends for leisure. Others have taken Pelosi up on her offer to let Obamacare take care of their lives while they become artists or musicians rather than work.
We also decide on what we do with our leisure (i.e. weekends on an expensive boat vs backyard garden) which leads to inequality in savings/retirement. But it’s our choice.
Inequality of income:
Plenty of doctors, lawyers and others went to school a long time for the purpose of a high income after. (Not all of them. I know a family practitioner who’s office loses money every year and often doesn’t pay herself the small salary she collects).
Other people get large college loans for a degree they hope will payout bigger in the long run.
Some people don’t finish high school because they don’t care about income.
It’s great that so many options exist and individuals can decide how much effort to put into education.
Just think of how few doctors we’d have or how good they would be if doctors and barista’s received equal income.
How many homeless people are sheltered at the Pelosi Winery?
