Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel says he has no regrets about ripping President Donald Trump on a near-nightly basis even if it turns off countless conservative viewers. “A lot of people are going with this line of reasoning where they say, people in show business shouldn’t speak out about politics,” Jimmy Kimmel told in an interview with ABC News’ Paula Faris on Tuesday. “And yet … they elected Donald Trump the president of the United States. So I think that argument has pretty well jumped out the window.”
Most recently, the Live host has pushed political views like amnesty for illegal immigrants, gun control, and tax-payer subsidized healthcare — all while skewering President Trump and his supporters.
“I don’t think you can go too far,” Kimmel says of his politically charged rhetoric. “I’m still doing a comedy show and I need to be funny and entertain my audience, but I also think that we’ve matured enough … to the point where we can accept late-night talk show hosts speaking about a serious subject. And I think that it’s almost necessary now.”

Because Trump is afraid to do anything. It is obvious the “Fairness Doctrine” needs to be brought back to TV and the Internet. But Trump allows Newscasters that attack his daughter into the White House, so good luck with any change.
Yeah, listening to a late night “comic” criticize someone intellectually impresses me even more than listening to an actor who never even made it through high school expose their smarts.

When I’m in the mood for late night tv that makes me smile, I go to youtube and enter “2016 election night coverage.”
Political humor at its very best. Never fails to amuse.
Entertainers who alienate potentially half their audience...Now, when they go and negotiate their new contract, and the boss says, we are cutting your pay in half, I bet that they would go nuclear.

Jimmy Kimmel of the “Man Show” who also cheated on his wife with Sarah Silverman who is a very gross disgusting person who he brought on his show many times to flaunt in front of his wife and kids is the perfect representative to host the Oscars or any event for Hollywood.
Who are his sponsors? Delta, Dick’s Sporting Goods, etc.? Frankly I feel that the total disrespect being shown for a sitting President and the millions that voted for him is far worse than the NRA promoting safety and the sale of a legal product. What would happen if half of America demanded he be taken off the air? Or even worse, he should be forced to have a public dialogue with people opposing his views.
Donald appears to want to get a public consensus rather than carry out acts of sheer fiat power. This has been working in some situations. It’s called giving an enemy enough rope to hang himself.

Based on his hatred of all things Trump, I think that Kimmel would purposely run into my Car if he saw me driving through Hollywood because I have TRUMP 45 Vanity License Plates on it.
In fact, I have no doubt he would make a scene one way or the other. He has lost all his sanity, along with a majority of People living in CA.
I feel like I’m living behind Enemy Lines.
I stopped watching all of those things in the Nineties. For much the same reasons.
He won't stand confidently by his behavior. “almost necessary now” are not the words of a confident man.
However, exactly when wasn't late night comedy, whether Jack Paar, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno not talking about “serious” subjects? What each of them did was skewer both sides with wit that allowed the listener to laugh at with both sides. That is what made American comedy so powerful a force for maintaining a sense of American unity in spite of different political points of view.
What Kimmel does is limit his audience to those who agree or who have no strong ideas. What happens to him and his audience if his socialist ideas win the next Presidency? That's when censorship begins for real. And who gets axed first when the Totalitarians take over?
