I am white. I have crossed the border into the US with my daughter when she was a pre-teen. The officers asked HER these questions:
Is this your Dad?
Do you live with your Dad or your Mom?
They asked these questions to ascertain if I was engaging in human smuggling or if I was kidnapping her. I APPRECIATED the level of concern and investigation that was shown at the border by US officials.

The only thing Border Patrol should be saying to these people is “turn around and go back or you will be shot”.
A lot of these people claim their lives are endangered back home, yet once granted asylum, where do you think they go on vacation? Turn them away at the border, period.
They can't, they are not Mexican citizens and Mexico will not take them back.

This scam has been true of Border Patrol for many decades. Back in the 60s and 70s the same people who rent valid IDs to get people across the bridge also rent little kids to get people from the border towns to the interior as Border Patrol agents are often on the highway 30 miles north of the border. This is not anything new.
