BOO HOO.

I am white. I have crossed the border into the US with my daughter when she was a pre-teen. The officers asked HER these questions:

Is this your Dad?

Do you live with your Dad or your Mom?

They asked these questions to ascertain if I was engaging in human smuggling or if I was kidnapping her. I APPRECIATED the level of concern and investigation that was shown at the border by US officials.

The part that these sorts of BS stories from the leftist media leave out is that somewhere around half or so of our Border Patrol agents are of latin American descent. All Border Patrol agents are required to know or learn Spanish when they come in, and being from a Spanish-speaking background is an advantage. Additionally, new agents are required to do time on the southern border before they can get that cushy northern border post.

If the original story were written with any truth, it would look like this:

“Esta es su hija?” agent Ramirez asked José Alfaro, 42, a street vendor from El Salvador, who said he came to the U.S. with his 3-year-old girl after gang members tried to kill him for the third time. “Si,” Mr. Alfaro murmured. “Cuando nacio ella? Cual fecha?” asked Ramirez.
