This time, we were told, it would be different.
The murders of 17 people at Stoneman Douglas High School 13 days ago was the latest in a long line of school shootings that began nearly 20 years ago at Columbine High School in Colorado. But, unlike almost all of the mass casualty shootings that have followed in those last two decades, the students of Stoneman Douglas were speaking out about what happened in their school. They were demanding politicians act -- and not taking "no" for an answer.
Then Congress came back to Washington on Monday. And man oh man, did it look like the same old script on gun legislation.
The House quickly made clear that they had already passed legislation to strengthen the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) late last year and that the ball was, therefore, in the Senate's court. (The "Fix NICS," um, fix in the House was paired with a measure supported by gun rights advocates that would allow people with concealed carry permits in one state to keep their guns concealed when they cross state lines.)

CNN is a freaking joke.
The NRA didn’t beat the “kids”, the kids beat the kids. They yelled and demanded and refused to converse and debate....that’s not how legislation passes.
The kids that don’t share this sentiment are either silent, or muzzled by the media. They need to be found, after a reasonable grieving period. They are the perfect fo to the arguement that these protesting kids must be listened to because of what they’ve been through.
It helps that the main “kid” the media and Left held up as the face of this was so goddamn hateable.

May have something to do with the fact that just about every public/government entity failed these kids miserably...it isn’t about the gun.
They should be protesting outside the Broward Sheriff’s office.
Interesting that the issue of pharmaceuticals these anti-social maniacs have been prescribed at some point in their lives is central to the discussion.. One might hypothesize that it's the pharmaceutical companies that have bought and paid for DC swampthings.
This happened a week ago. The US HOR and Senate were on vacation, again. If they were useless, it would be an improvement.
