Dr. Spock’s revenge on America is still with us. Paddle the little curtain climbers early and avoid embarrassment like this later. Even mother bears know it.

Yeah, this thing is falling apart for the same reasons that Occupy Wall Street did.

1960’s “My Voice Must Be Heard” collectivism is actually a lousy way of actually getting things done.

Because the Russian stuff wasn’t working any longer.

Keep calm, they’re just exposing themselves as crazy radicals. We couldn’t have scripted a better fallapart.

Mindless drones on the left. SMH.
What they are really doing is using the NRA to blame all gun owners. the NRA is the passive aggressive target for leftards.

Yes, fix those things AND prosecute people that lie on forms and purchase guns illegally. The laws are already there, enforce them!

Reality is that the state failed, and CNN is left covering that up by pointing fingers at NRA.

Has an NRA member ever gone on a killing spree?

It is amazing to me how fast the anti-gunners got their political campaign off the ground after this shooting.

What I suspect is that they created a rapid-reaction capability, with as much of the logistics as possible worked out in advance. Pre-written scripts. Canned policy statements. Everything ready to roll out on a moment’s notice.

I mean, all of these incidents are pretty much the same, right?

Parts is parts.

What they didn’t count on was that this particular incident had a lot of villains, who had far more responsibility for this tragedy than the NRA.

So they jumped all over this thing, and were up and running, literally overnight. The NRA was playing catch up ball from the very beginning, and things looked pretty good for them for a while.

But then the details started coming out. 37 visits to the house. 4 deputies cowering behind their cars. 2 calls to the FBI. Suddenly, the story was no longer about the guns, it was about police malfeasance.

If they had known all of the details, there is no way the anti-gunners would have chosen this field to fight their battle. But they couldn’t know, because they fully committed in the first thirty minutes. That’s the problem with rapid-reaction plans; they are by their nature generic, and they can’t be adapted to the situation.

So they have wasted this great effort on what will, ultimately, avail them nothing. They have revealed their strategy and squandered the element of surprise. Next time they try to trot out the photogenic children, it will be same old/same old. This trick will only work once.

You can bet your bottom dollar the NRA is working on their counter strategy, even as we speak. They will not be surprised again.

Pat Cadell about 4 election cycles ago had his 5 pieces of advice to a moribund Democratic party. #1 was gun control is a loser, get off it, no new votes found to mine, most gun grabbers are already Democrats and they vote, no net gain there. The Dems have done internal polling and soon the Parkland Hitler Youth will be silenced after their stupid march. I kind of feel bad all their memes are not working, ...Global warming, #MeToo, trotting out traumatized upper middle class teenagers to shill for gun grabbing.... I take that back I don’t feel bad. Losers deserve to lose.

Unlike these ignorant children congress critters probably know that the NRA created NICS so they aren’t going to throw them under the bus.

I agree with this analysis, and I think it is the model for a number of leftist actions. The avalanche of instant publicity after the Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown incidents leaps to mind. Like the anti-Trump/anti-NRA narrative constructed around the Florida shootings, the Martin and Brown “white racist” stories collapsed quickly upon examination, but not before the propagandists fed them to millions of gullible people.

Do Democrats still exist?

Boy did you and Mr. Caddell hit the nail on the head.

In order to regain electoral viability the Democrats would need to focus on some issues that VOTERS ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT!

Of course they won’t. Because we’re all idiots, they’re the smartest people ever born, and any issues we care about that they don’t are obviously the WRONG ones.

These high school kids bully other kids to the breaking point, engage in violence which they video and post on the web, share pornographic images of themselves, disrespect and assault teachers, listen to violent and mysogonistic music, do drugs, engage in risky sexual behavior, participate in internet groups that encourage school shootings and violence and refuse to "tattle" on their peers.

They demand that they not be held accountable for their actions (with leftist help).

They then demand that adults listen to them and "fix" the problem but don't infringe on their "rights" or privacy!

The left never, ever, proposes making their desired changes in the legal way, i.e., by modifying or replacing the 2nd Amendment.

They hope to get some judge to rule that it simply no longer applies. Unfortunately, there’s only one man who stands in the way of this, Justice Kennedy. Well, not to mention 300,000,000 guns.
