Okay, I'll take you back to comment #8"Saved" you say ?
That depends on what you mean by "Saved" .

You remind me of Isaiah 28, especially verses 9 thru 18.

What has John 3:1-21 and 1 Corinthians 15:50 taught you ?
Those people sleep in the earth, and await the resurrection yet to come.

“’Saved’ you say ? That depends on what you mean by ‘Saved’.”

This was your reply to my earlier comment: “you do NOT accept
that ANY FORMER homosexuals have been SAVED by the GOSPEL.”

And you bring up passages about being born again and the resurrection: John 3:1-21 & 1 Corinthians 15:50.

I have already laid out the basic message of the Gospel of Salvation. In post #34 I mentioned it 18 times where I distinguished between the Gospel of Grace and the Law, and 9 times in post #31 where I gave a seven-point definition of the Gospel message. I also answered your questions regarding leading someone to Christ and calling on the Lord for salvation.

Being born again, as described in John 3, is not about being resurrected bodily at the return of Christ. Those who hold this view are in the minority, are at odds with the historicity of the interpretation of the passage, and are doing violence to the text in order to force it to fit in some odd system of doctrinal aberration.

Since you like Matthew Henry, an excellent Bible scholar, I will refer you to his commentary on the passage:

https://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/matthew-henry-complete/john/3.html

Here he describes being born again as “to be born to a divine and heavenly life, a life of communion with God and the upper world, and, in order to this, it is to partake of a divine nature and bear the image of the heavenly.” He describes its necessity as “the new nature, which is spirit, must take rise from a second birth.” He describes it as the regeneration of the soul (not body).

In contrast with the idea that the rebirth under discussion being somehow about the body, he points out the error of Nicodemus’s thinking this: “His weakness in knowledge; what Christ spoke spiritually he seems to have understood after a corporal and carnal manner, as if there were no other way of regenerating and new-moulding an immortal soul than by new-framing the body, and bringing that back to the rock out of which it was hewn, as if there was such a connection between the soul and the body that there could be no fashioning the heart anew but by forming the bones anew.”

Being born again is how a sinner becomes a child of God.

So... back to the question at hand: what is salvation?

The name above all names, Jesus, means Savior. He was called Jesus because He would save His people from... THEIR SINS.

Matthew 1:21
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Salvation is first and foremost salvation from SINS.

Salvation is a process. It begins with fertile soil of a heart prepared to receive it through the tilling process of the Law of God. The Law of God is revealed in the writings of Moses (and other scriptures), and in nature, and written on the hearts of men. When the heart is properly prepared and does receive the seed of the word in the form of the Gospel, the first element of salvation occurs: faith.

Salvation includes:
1. justification,
2. sanctification, and
3. glorification.

Justification is the imputing of Christ’s righteousness to the penitent believer. It is salvation from the penalty of sin. It is salvation from God’s wrath.

Sanctification is the part of salvation by which we are being saved from the power of sin presently through the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

Glorification is the part of salvation that will be completed when our body, soul, and spirit are fully conformed with the image of Christ when He returns.

Jesus saves us from sin, slavery, death, and hell. After hearing and believing the Gospel, the spiritual rebirth is the starting point of this “Christian” journey.

And before this journey ever begins, we are ALL sinners, under the judicial sentence of divine wrath. This includes homosexuals and heterosexuals. Sinners must become aware of their sinful state before God and His divine judgment in order to understand their need for SALVATION. This is the purpose of Law. Once a person understands their condemnation, it is possible for them to be enlightened to the hope of the Gospel message of SALVATION from sin, bondage, death, and hell.

Once a person believes on Christ for salvation, they begin the journey that ultimately leads to being transformed into the image of Christ, beginning with confession of sins, calling on the Lord Jesus, being baptized, and becoming part of the fellowship of a local congregation of fellow-believers.

Salvation is the work of God, not a work of the flesh. It is accomplished in the believer through God’s sovereign will by which He has ordained for the elect to not only believe the Gospel but to patiently persevere through inevitable trials, do good works, and produce the fruits of righteousness.

John 1:12-13
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
