David Hogg: Gov. Rick Scott Should Be ‘Held Accountable’ ..[TR]

David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting, told Morning Joe on Monday that he thinks Gov. Rick Scott should be “held accountable” for the failure of three sheriff’s deputies to confront the gunman.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to news outlets that three deputies from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office remained outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High as the shooter opened fire, eventually killing 17 people.

Hogg, appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, said the news is “raising concern” in his community, before accusing elected officials of attempting the blame the shooting on “bureaucracy.”

“They’re in charge of them,” Hogg said of those elected officials. “This is their fault.”

“They should have been regulating them,” he continued. “I’m not going to allow them to pressure these people because at the end of the day it’s their fault. These elected officials are the boss of these sheriff personnel and just like the president is the boss of the FBI, Governor Rick Scott is essentially the boss of Scott Israel, the sheriff, and as such he should be held accountable.

“He can’t just blame this on the bureaucracy and expect to get re-elected.” Hogg went on to praise high school football coach Aaron Feis, who died shielding students from the gunman, “unlike those cowardly Broward County Sheriff officials.”

“Sadly, these are a few individuals that did not conduct their job correctly, but I don’t think it’s right that Governor Rick Scott is trying to blame this on the bureaucracy in an effort to get reelected.”

Has this little punk demanded that local and federal law enforcement be held accountable for all the balls they dropped on this shooter?

Isn’t county sheriff an elected office in Broward County, like everywhere else? If so, how is Scott his “boss”?

What is his connection to the Broward Sheriff, and why is Hogg protecting him?

So, Rick Scott is supposed to be intimately aware of the goings-on in Broward County? I would bet if Rick Scott was aware of the calls to the FBI and the sheriff’s office, this clown would have been disarmed and would have been under psychiatric observation.

This little kid is only one of approximately 3,000 “survivors” of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

And his high school education has apparently been greatly lacking if he doesn’t know the sheriff is also an elected official.

What he is really saying is that Republicans ought to be held accountable for what Democrats have done. LOL.

"These elected officials are the boss of these sheriff personnel and just like the president is the boss of the FBI, Governor Rick Scott is essentially the boss of Scott Israel, the sheriff, and as such he should be held accountable."

But this kid is not being political, really? So we have a Democratically elected sheriff whose office ignored the warnings from this shooter and his deputies did not go in and stop the shooting. As far as I know, the kid has not called for the Sheriff's removal and yet the Republican governor Rick Scott is somehow accountable and should step down because why? He wasn't down there micromanaging another elected official?

Look at the school itself...They don't report incidents to the cops...

'Fraid you'll get a bad mark...ah.

In Florida, the office of Sheriff is an elected position. The governor of the state has no control whatsoever on how a particular sheriff’s office is run.

I wonder which $oros-funded group is writing this punks scripts?

Strange how he can take a leave of absence from his senior year to go on the Leftist Talking Points tour. And, how he was ready to perform on day one. No time to grieve for his classmates, school employee or community.

Clearly the school is doing a poor job of teaching American history and government. The sheriff is elected by the citizens of Broward County, not the Governor. He reports to the citizens. He is not a state employee.

Our education system is failing students and society by not teaching them our country’s history and government.
