His house doors were locked according to his parents.

Quite a mystery.

Well then, he locked himself out and disappeared or he had help disappearing and his help locked the doors? Did anyone make note of the dog’s behavior when they arrived? Agitated, out of character in any way? If I were in a fairly prosperous area verging upon the hood as so many up and coming urban neighborhoods are, the dog’s going with me if I heard something outside at night. No way of knowing if it happened after dark though, I guess?

“Tim had been in communication with us extensively on Sunday [Feb. 11], and I pinpoint Sunday because there were some exchanges via phone as well as text that alerted me to be concerned about our son,” his father Terrell Cunningham said.”

I’d be thinking some kind of drug-issue or woman-problem....but you would have taken your billfold with you.

Not if you were going to disappear.

You might take the cash but the id and credit cards would be left.

The dog is probably chipped and so would not be taken either.

This sounds like either he went into witsec, he was kidnapped or he just decided to chuck it all.

Not like in the Wayne Williams days when the police were all wearing face shields and riot gear. Not nearly as worried as those days.

Everybody remain calm . . .

Maybe he found out something that he was not supposed to know.

Everyone describes as an upstanding guy, who had a lot of knowledge over medicine and chemistry. No evidence of him having ever been a user of anything....really clean background for his entire life. Maybe if you had some master plan to make a huge batch and you needed a smart guy to manufacture it...he might fit into this type of plan.

Course, maybe he had some nutcase gal who came up to kidnap him. Odd thing is that the house does not appear to be robbed, and the only factor to suggest a break-in is a window left open on one end of the house. Beyond that....nothing to say some other individual was visiting or waiting for him. If he were sick...bad off...maybe a friend would have picked him up and carried him to a hospital but he would taken his keys and billfold.

“They then had extended family members check on his house in Atlanta, which seemed empty despite two open windows — an alarming detail, as Cunningham’s parents said their son was particularly environmentally conscious.”

“Environmentally conscious” so he didn’t open his windows? I don’t get it.

Thanks for the link - seems like there must be a huge behind the scenes effort to find him and either gather facts or go into cover up mode...makes zero sense that he go missing from what little we know so far.

It’s winter time. I believe it means close windows when you leave the house. Also suspicious to have open windows in the winter

I lived in that area many years ago, just north of the tracks. Parts of that area get pretty sketchy pretty quickly.

Your weekend must have lacked any opportunity to attend a medieval fair, a science fiction movie, a lecture, or a new exhibit at the science museum. Or at least that is how the better weekends were spent by the circle of science geeks whom I acquainted with several decades ago while studying law at a major state university. The experience helped me to understand the type as I encountered them in later years. For minds so disposed, micro organisms and biological processes (or subatomic particles and quantum physics) are as familiar and real as old friends.

Based on my experience, a guy like this is probably NOT significantly involved with the science side of the house.
