These are the people who would influence us, the public, to do the right thing because they and only they know what is the right thing
In education, politics, war and peace, taxes, economics, etc.
But if you are knowledgeable in any of the matters they would instruct you, such as aviation, guns, shooting, equitation...an endless list, you immediately recognize that they are all blowhards who really have no idea how things really work.
During Desert Storm SNL did a skit parodying the total lack of knowledge shown by the media in Saudi during Schwartzkopf’s pressers. The parody was only slightly funnier than the real pressers. Looks like the media has not only maintained that level of stupidity, tgey have raised it to new heights.

When we went out on special ops in Vietnam, we frequently used .22LR subsonics.
You don’t need hypersonic to kill. You just have to be accurate.
You have to understand this about journalists; they start college looking for a degree law let us say, they can’t cut the mustard. They then look at something like sociology. They still can’t cut the mustard. Well, maybe we can make with an Education degree and teach. Nope failed again. How to stay in school and get mom and dad, plus the taxpayer to keep funding me so I don’t have to find a real job? Journalism!!!! And for some reason they are able to graduate with something close to a 3.5-3.8 GPA. That tells you all you really need to know about their intelligence and what is required to pass journalism.

Two weeks ago politicians wanted to ban tide pods because teenagers were so stupid they were eating them. Now these same politicians are telling us we have to listen to the same teenagers because they are experts on guns.
After all, it is in print, right before their eyes.
Truly, they as a group never swung a hammer onto a nail, turned a wrench, started, or put out a fire, threw a ball, fired a firearm, shot an arrow, thought freely and independently, ever.
AR-15s fire especially fast because they are equipped with the dreaded Shoulder Thing That Goes Up.
