The armed officer on duty...The school resource officer at the high school took up a position viewing the western entrance of the building that was under attack for more than 4 minutes, but "he never went in," Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said at a news conference...Israel said the deputy should have "went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer."

Only there for a paycheck?
So we confiscated all the guns in the US and now no more school shootings, ah a progressive utopia! today on the news a young man rammed his vehicle into an emergency room set himself on fire which set the car on fire and in the trunk were gas canisters. We must not fall victim to the puppet masters who are conducting the snowflake orchestra
“Israel said the deputy should have “went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer.”
And then he went on to blame the NRA. Scott Israel is a disgrace.
Really?
Not that I've heard of, for at least a quarter-century.
The officer, Scot Peterson, was suspended without pay and placed under investigation, then chose to resign, Israel said.
“No security guard should be allowed to carry a smart phone while working. I see that all of the time. Guards are watching TV and screwing around on Facebook”
A few months back I noticed the same thing at the Social Security office. While waiting to be called, I observed the armed guard playing on his computer and telephone. Only once during our 30 minute wait did he go to the security cam screen.
According to the Sheriff, after the attack started, the armed school resource officer went to the entrance that the murderer used and cowered there for the duration of the murders.
...Police have a reputation of running toward gunfire...
Really?
Not that I’ve heard of, for at least a quarter-century...
Yes. Really. That’s why they award Medals of Valor. Often posthumously.
COWARD!!!
Like the SWAT team at Columbine?
They hid behind their cars out in the parking lot until all the scary noises stopped.
Sniveling, Whining, Abjectly Terrified.
#1 Priority - go home safely at the end of the shift.
That’s been an open question - what was the armed guard doing during the attack? Can understand if he were on the other side of the campus or something - did he know it was happening and try to intervene?
Also - is he a trained law enforcement officer or a rent-a-cop?
Media has been too busy crying “Blood!” to delve into these things. Is this information going to come out, or will it be another Vegas?
A WEEK LATER WE LEARN WHERE SECURITY
WAS....???? Shame on the sheriff’s department...shame on the school administration for not telling the truth...
Officer Peterson had received an award.
Deputy assigned to Florida school ‘never went in’ during shooting, sheriff says

Nope.not at all. They were under direct fire in the parking lot from the second floor library. They were pinned down.
The deputy that arrived in Broward county was not under any fire. None at all. He was just leisurely waiting for someone to arrive and hold his hand.
No. More like the policeman at El Cajon High school who stopped a teenager who shot 5 kids by shooting him in the butt.
Or, the police who engaged the Black Lives Matter shooter in a parking garage in downtown Dallas who killed several officers and was firing at the crowd. They ran to the shots. Not away from them.
pu$$y.
The Kids need to be taught that they are responsible for their own safety.
It takes a village, not a bureaucracy.
but wait...there’s more.....note date and then name of SRO
“- Feb. 5, 2016: A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy is told by an anonymous caller that Nikolas Cruz, then 17, had threatened on Instagram to shoot up his school and posted a photo of himself with guns. The information is forwarded to BSO Deputy Scot Peterson, a school resource officer at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.”
-The FBI made 2 huge mistakes
-local law enforcement made numerous mistakes
-Broward Country kept the shooter safe for years from being prosecuted
-now this guy screws up big time
But some how the NRA is the guilty party???
