When I was in SERE school they spent a full half day on the Code of Conduct and encouraged us all to follow it to the best of our abilities. Insisted even. Then they set about to cause every man to violate it. And succeeded. When I underwent SERE training prior to going to Vietnam, we only had a few who were broken. I wasn't one of them.
