Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R) cares about diversity. In fact, he cares about it so much that he drank your moms favorite chocolate milk concoction at a corporate event honoring Black History Month.
The supposed-metaphor happened after Hyatt Hotels vice president and global chief diversity officer Tyronne Stoudemire presented a bottle of Hersheys chocolate syrup and said that it represents diversity through women, people of color, people with disabilities, the aging population, and generation X, Y, and Z. Standing on stage right next to him, Gov. Rauner held a glass of milk as Stoudemire poured chocolate syrup right into it.
Its not that organizations are not diverse, but when you look at most organizations, diversity sits, what? At the bottom of the organization, Stoudemire said, CBS reports. You dont get inclusion until you stir it up. I want you to stir it up, governor. Stir it up.
Gov. Rauner went on to do just that, offering to drink the chocolate milk live on stage.
Youll drink it? Youll be proud to, Stoudemire quipped, after which Gov. Rauner took a sizable gulp, gave a thumbs up, and unsolicitedly shouted, Its really, really good
Diversity!

Q: What does the color of the person skin tell you about the person?
A: It tells you who is more fit for working outdoors in the hot sun.

The supposed-metaphor happened after Hyatt Hotels vice president and global chief diversity officer Tyronne Stoudemire ...The most bothersome thing in this item is that Hyatt has such a position. And I am certain they are not the only multinational to have one.

Thanks bkopto. That's tone deaf. Good thing the silly bastard didn't use the chocolate milk to wash down some Oreos.

I was thinking that its a good thing they didn't have this press conference in a school cafeteria.
The SRO would have had to tackle the gov’ner to keep him from breaking one of his own laws.

Not sure what the governor was supposed to do here. This happened at a public event, on stage - should he have turned it down? Imagine the headlines if he had done so. Looks to me like it was a setup specifically to generate a bad headline regardless of how Rauner handled it.
