Trump endorses guns for teachers to stop shootings
BBC ^ | Feb. 21, 2018 | BBC

US President Donald Trump has said arming teachers could prevent school shootings like that which left 17 people dead last week in Florida.

A staff member with a gun could end an attack "very quickly", he said.

Mr Trump floated the proposal as emotional survivors of the 14 February massacre implored him to make sure it never happens again.

The Republican president also backed calls for improved background checks on gun buyers.

I forget who posted it or where the comment originated, but Trump really does have Reagan's charisma, Eisenhower's steel spine and Nixon's ability to counter-punch.

I had something along those lines as my tag line in late 2016:

Trump: A glorious amalgamation of Ronald Reagan, Andrew Jackson, and Teddy Roosevelt.

Perhaps, but for some reason I just would not feel comfortable in giving this whack job a loaded firearm.

approx 1,000 students in a school. Pay the security guard 30-50k.

30-50 dollars per student. Probably could do it cheaper than that.

Pay off duty police officers. They are always looking for extra cash.

Off duty officers sit on our building as security. I have talked to them. They love these jobs. Many do paperwork in their cruisers.

I don’t really agree with this because an unruly student could wrestle a gun from a teacher. I think it’s better to have trained security guards at schools, preferably ex-military or off duty cops.

In the end, the real problem is our left leaning society that alienated people who don’t conform to their unnatural behavioral code.

Blumenthal, who lied about his Vietnam service, only cares about finding the nearest camera to get his face on TV. It was no different than when he was CT’s AG. Ran to the camera to complain, but offered no solution.

In Oregon I know people who CCW who ignore any “Gun Free Zone” if there is no METAL detector. And, I believe, it is legal to CCW in schools...or it was...loony legislature is in session....could have changed.

President Trump did not “endorse” this; he acknowledged a parent who suggested it, then discussed it saying the idea would be looked into.

Just wanted to correct the BBC on this.

I personally think it’s a good idea, and wouldn’t care if Trump endorsed it, but he did not “endorse” it.

I’m not normally one to advocate civil disobedience, and I loathe what the blue cities are doing in undermining ICE—but UNCLE JOE’S LAW IS KILLING KIDS!

In this and other cases (sanctuary cities, extreme vetting, DACA, etc.), I do wish we conservatives could in fact tell TBTB to take a flying leap.

I am so disgusted with all the leftist clowns in robes, legislating from the bench and nullifying President Trump’s clear authority.

Enough of all this acquiescing to the idiotic fools like Biden!!!

“The British tried to seize the Colonists arms and ammunition at Lexington, but paid dearly for it.”

I do wish the BBC would send their commies over to the US to disarm us so we could kill them again.

"...the FIRST time a teacher stops a school massacre, the anti’s narrative is cold toast..."

Excellent point you have made above, DBrow.

It seems we will learn more as a potential attack has seemingly been halted by an alert school resource officer in Whittier, CA earlier today.
While that situation was not a “live” action event, it will certainly draw voices from both sides of the discussion, for sure.

It starts here and expands into the blogosphere.

We MUST pin the blame on Joe Biden and his “Safe Schools Act”

Jonesboro and Columbine came AFTER Uncle Joe’s law.

He created target rich environments from coast to coast.

Oh yeah - he works quickly to blunt attacks, steal arrows from their quiver, throw them into consternation. Could you imagine the level of capitulation that would be going on by now if someone like, say, that jello-spined Jebbie the Bush was in office instead. [[SHUDDER]].

Doesn’t Texas have a district already doing just that?
##########################

There are at least 3. Argyle ISD has a great program.
