An NBC Bay Area Investigation reveals a dangerous concoction of drug needles, garbage, and feces lining the streets of downtown San Francisco. The Investigative Unit surveyed more than 150 blocks, including some of the city’s top tourist destinations, and discovered conditions that are now being compared to some of the worst slums in the world.

What a shame! In the 1980s, I saw my share of delicate men there, but nary a poop anywhere!

I woule love to overlay your map with per capita income. My guess is that the posh don’t have to deal with this sort of unpleasantness.

This article follows an earlier one about Los Angeles, in which a video shows the downtown of LA looking for the world like Calcutta…bums, makeshift tents and cardboard huts, with trash everywhere. It’s a shame to have such places in the United States. They should clean up these putrid streets , or their sanitation departments should close them down.

Good Lord, you believe that? More beds for the homeless does what? You guessed it? Brings in MORE homeless. As Rush says, “when you pay for something, you get more of it.”

And she proposes reducing other city budget items to deal with the homeless? Great plan. Reduce fire and police protection; reduce street repair. Who needs those outdated cable cars, anyway? We have bums, and bums, and bums, and more bums we need to take care of.

Sick, sick, sick “progressive.”

Los Angeles is like that too. I worked a grant panel last spring and my husband and I drove around a bit. MacArthur Park, west of downtown, is a homeless CAMP. It looked the size of a Boy Scout Jamboree - acres and acres of tents, homeless folks. And Wilshire Blvd. I would not work down there for love nor money. Even the offramps right off the freeway. What is wrong with the Mayor? The liberals??

You're mostly right.

Downtown LA is terrible - I won’t go down there. I keep thinking David Daleiden or one of those secret photo journalists should shoot it and publish on YouTube for all to see. It is unbelievable. You could get cholera down there, most definitely. Heading out, we are.

There is a section of downtown LA north of the freeway that is called Skid Row. The original for over 40 years. Now it’s heavily populated and they tell the city what to do.

Got a $75 ticket during the Christmas holidays for parking during a street-sweeping period (didn't see the sign and it was a holiday!)

I guarantee you that filthy street hasn't been swept in a decade ... or maybe since the night before ... it's hard to tell in many places of San Francisco -- which, just 30 yers ago, was one of America's finest and spectacularly beautiful city.

If you’re going to San Francisco
Be sure to get the latest feces map
If you’re going to San Francisco
You’re gonna see some sidewalks filled with crap

For those who come to San Franciso
Summertime may feel like it’s hell
In the streets of San Francisco
You’re gonna find an overwhelming smell

All across the nation, think about vacation
Do you dare go there
There’s a whole generation, uncontrolled defecation
Do you dare go there

For those who come to San Francisco
You won’t believe what liberals there have done
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will not be too much fun

If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will not be too much fun

Pelosi's house, at least one of them, in Pacific Heights. That's near the top center of the map in #46, just below the Marina District.

She has a short drive to the crap.

Sounds like certain streets of D.C. circa 1990.

they probably commissioned the study and now they're screaming for more money....

I'll tell you how you clean up poop..you scoop it up and throw it in bag and get rid of it...is you can grab a hose and spray the area down, do it...

it doesn't take $30 million to do that...

What is “shallow-faced?” Btw women can have pock marks for reasons besides doing drugs. I haven’t touched a drug since I was 16, and even then nothing heavy, but due to hormonal imbalance and genetic skin type (brother too) had to have micro dermabrasion from years of cysts that would pop up on my face (which I kept diligently clean.)

I'm a native Angeleno. I can remember when McArthur Park was a real park. It was pleasant, well kept, and a great place for an afternoon picnic. Not a bum, a druggie, or a gangster in sight.

I haven't driven past there since the early 90s, but even then, it was still void of homeless people.

I don't know how a city or state reverses such conditions. Looking at examples like Detroit, it will predictably get worse and worse, until the bottom falls out.

Then comes Armageddon.
