Wednesdays shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which left at least 17 people dead, again reminds us that all is not right in the land of the free and the home of the brave. If you have children in the public school system, youll probably offer up a special prayer tonight, and hug your child a little longer in the morning before you send him or her off to school. It takes courage to live in America these days but not for reasons any of us anticipated just a few short years ago. Weve long been suffering from a leadership void, a crisis of cowardice. We all seem paralyzed, stunned to the point of inaction and its killing us. Literally. Were in need of a sweeping movement of courageous leadership in America, and we need it now.
Insanity, its been said, is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Truly, we Americans are in la-la land. We want things to change, but most of us refuse to pay attention long enough to muster the backbone that would bring real change from the inside-out. The violence we are experiencing is the consequence of cowardice.
If sending our children to school in the morning increases the odds of our mourning in the evening, something is seriously wrong. AR-15 rifles belong on the battlefield, not in our public schools. So how did a 19 year old show up with one, and countless magazines, and open fire on unarmed students and faculty? It happened, by golly, because we, as a society, refuse to address the root reasons for the rage that is manifesting itself in gun violence and a host of other angry outbursts. If it werent guns, wed be using butter knives. Havent we had enough of this insanity? Probably not. Weve been here before too many times.
Without proactive, courageous leadership that addresses the reasons for American violence, the job of law enforcement will be a job none will envy.
No doubt well read and hear the same old arguments offered up through politicians and celebrities and well all feel somewhat better for a moment, deceiving ourselves with the notion that discussing a problem is the same as solving it. It isnt. When the smoke clears, the likelihood is very high that our insanity will continue well keep doing the same things, expecting the rage to go away. But it wont, because we have lost the courage to define reality to lead and that, in a nutshell, is the real source of all our problems.
A society that lacks courageous leadership will be paralyzed by fear. We are witnessing this reality before our very eyes. Cowardice, not courage, is winning the war and it will one day reign supreme if we dont reverse this trend. If this doesnt concern you, youre part of the problem, not the solution. Whose side are you on, after all? Its time you decide.
Courage and fear have zero tolerance for each other, and its high time we choose which will characterize our nation by choosing which will characterize each of our lives and families. If we want courage to arise in our nation, it must arise in each of our lives.
As long as courage is lacking, cowardice will cripple us. Its time for every American to stand and deliver. The reality is that the revolution of courage our nation needed yesterday needs to begin today not in someone elses life, but, most likely, in each of us. Its time to get off the sidelines, pay attention to whats happening, and look for ways to address the root of what ails us. If we deal with the root, well take care of the fruit.
‘Many are called VERY few are chosen.’
Remember the old guy from Killeen Tx, Lubys.
May he rest in peace, a true man of HONOR.
His daughter is well known now for 2ed amendment rights.
There are many.
Most we never hear about.
What is the authors point? What is the “root cause”? ‘Courage’ to do what exactly? Did I miss a sentence or two?
The evildoers kicked God out of our public institutions. The only time it’s okay for our Christian children to pray in school is when bullets are flying over their heads. The private emails of our government employees reveal their godless life style.
So why do we think God is going to bless America with the peace and civility of a long-gone era when the majority of people in our country read and followed the teachings of the Bible?
“Righteousness exalts a nation. But sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)

Courageous leadership would insist that “gun free zones” be removed from society. Teachers should be allowed to have guns in the classroom.
But most politicians are fearful of telling the truth.
He should smoke some pot and forget about being courageous.
It is more sinister than that. The core ideal of the liberal statist is for the citizen to become completely dependent on government. That includes removing all guns from private citizens and the government being the only one with force.
It removes the ability of a private citizen to effectively defend their live, family and/or property.
His reference to “proactive, courageous leadership” makes me think he’s talking about the “courage” to pass more useless (and worse than useless) gun control laws.
Your point is not completely invalidated, though. Manliness is less common, and less valued today than it was in 1968 (or 1938). Those effete individuals pictured in the OP will not magically, instantly transform into men.
I must have missed the same sentences.
How many people in the school were good, law abiding people? How many were murderous psychopaths? How many people in the school had a gun?
The key word is UNARMED. A hero staffer who was killed shielding kids should be a live hero who eliminated the threat and saved numerous lives.
Less valued? More like actively opposed!
As well as decency and respect for others.
Nobody even conceives of the pressure that young white boys may be under these days with these demands of self-emasculation, and the absolute shit river of anti white propaganda that they have to listen to every day, and then the POCs hear it too and know they can do anything to a White Kid cuz nobody every gonna back HIM up, and it goes on and on and on and it’s very sad that some of them crack. I don’t condone it, but I understaaand.
Agreed. We must push back hard against the anti white hate propagated by the media.
Yes, in some places. Government schools, for example ...
