Remember back to the Kansas (?) attack. The shooter was given the death penalty very quickly. I didn’t like that. Once he was dead, there was no way to learn more from him about who or what influenced him. With this guy, same thing. I want him around because the more we learn about him and who and what influenced him, the more we’ll know about how to prevent these situations in the future. If he were given the death penalty, it might hide information about what the FBI did or didn’t do that didn’t stop this massacre from occurring.

Why should taxpayers keep this killer alive in prison year after year?

Assume it costs $30,000 a year to imprison him and assume he will live for 50 years in prison.
That comes to $1.5 million dollars.
Then there are the additional costs of court proceedings and his tax paid lawyers.
Put him to death and use that $1.5 million dollars to assist his wounded victims and the families of those he killed.

In cases like this where there is no question of guilt we need the option of an expedited death penalty - no appeal, no delay. Find him guilty and execute him the next day.
