Here’s Why Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Never Reported Nikolas Cruz to the Police
The Truth About Guns ^ | Feb 16 2018 | Luis Valdes

Nikolas Cruz was a known threat. Known by the administrators of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. It’s a clear case where a known dangerous student was not reported to the police. Why?

Because back in 2013, the Broward County School Board adopted a program where they don’t relay information to police about troubled students.

NPR reported in Fla. School District Trying To Curb School-To-Prison Pipeline;

It’s a move away from so-called “zero tolerance” policies that require schools to refer even minor misdemeanors to the police. Critics call it a “school to prison pipeline.”

Under a new program adopted by the Broward County School District, non-violent misdemeanors — even those that involve alcohol, marijuana or drug paraphernalia — will now be handled by the schools instead of the police.

Cruz was banned from carrying a backpack at school after bullets were found in his backpack. Cruz was expelled from MSD last year after a fight with his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.

Non-violent misdemeanors? Even so, red flags were flying.

Again, the Broward County School Board has an official policy requiring that they don’t tell the police about non-violent incidents with troubled youth.

He showed up to school with live ammo, and wasn’t reported to the cops?

Ok, so.... I’m thinking that this school district is going to be sued out of existence.

Sorry if I missed this, but were parents aware of this policy?

“yet police kept in dark”

In the dark with 39 calls to the house. Are these cops Helen Keller clones?

Major, punitive lawsuits....they have their constructive purpose, and in this case, I hope the school board is sued and each member sued individually.

This insane liberalism has to collapse of its own failure and stupidity. It’s impossible that it wont.

There is no in between with liberals. They go from extreme to extreme and absolutely will not allow teachers and administrators to use common sense.

What Cruz would say: Thank goodness Mueller made trolling Twitter illegal by Russians ONLY. Now I understand why the FBI didn’t look my post on Youtube.

Didn’t Trayvon Martin’s Miami-Dade County School system have a similar policy?

If Trayvon Martin had been properly reported and disciplined as he should have been, he might very well be alive today. So IMHO the school is more to blame for his death than George Zimmerman.

The school board members that voted to play hands off and not hand off offenders that could cause chaos down the road that actually led to deaths should be sued. They are much like those who today support sanctuary for illegals in the name of compassion. They provided neither security or compassion in doing so.

And the Superintendent was quoted as saying they had no indications that Cruz was a problem. He sure had his head up his backside.

He got into a fight with a guy. When I think of a fight, I think some combination of fisticuffs and wrestling. That’s not violent?

Also this was the story of Saint Trayvon of Florida. Criminal behavior at school, not reported to keep numbers “good” and avoid the school to prison pipeline.

Fully documented in Jack Cashill’s book If I Had A Son.

Yea, that out to work out well NOT!!!!! They can't control those animals now, how are they expecting their school yard discipline to do any better than what POLICE are trained to handle. Recipe for disaster, AGAIN.

I see lawyers salivating over lawsuits totalling hundreds of millions of dollars against a slew of blatantly, if not criminally, negligent school, county, state, and federal agencies and officials.

I hope the juries tack on a lot more zeros on the end of numbers representing punitive damages.

Sadly,
How many officials likely will be prsecuted - zero.
How many officials likely will be fired - no more than 1 scapegoat.

The real irony in this may be that perhaps Cruz was looking to be stopped, and the authorities and “grown-ups” who should have been there to help kept backing away - he posted for all to see that he wanted to become a pro high school shooter and included his correct name - yet the school authorities were too concerned with protecting him from the nasty mean police to reach out, and the FBI were doing who knows what - looking for someone to write another dossier maybe - to take action - real disgrace.....
