And children. Don’t forget the children.

If climate change continues at the current rate, much of North Africa could become a vast desert.

"...there must be a location where this precious crop can be grown in an environment which is like it’s old environment.

It's called a greenhouse, which can be configured to cool as well as heat. Vertical agriculture (basically a greenhouse on edge) is also an option. HUMANS adapt with technology, and always have.

Nothing else worked, so they try to scare us with the loss of hummus.

Chickpeas are going the way of the cheetah.

Not sure about the chickpeas, but agree with the latter part. That's why the saying is, "Cheetahs never prosper!"

Yeah...I call BS on this article. They grow best in warm/hot nearly dry areas.

Hummus is actually pretty good if they don’t doctor it too much with exotic flavorings.

Consider it bean dip, because that’s really all it is.

Heck, I know what it is, I eat it and make my own on occasion.

I just laugh (and love) the stereotype of rednecks who say “what the hell is ‘hooomuuus’?”

That’s why I just tell unsuspecting guests that it’s “bean dip” and they’re not worse off for trying it. Weird-sounding words really bother some people.

Hummus tastes like crap.

Then you're getting the wrong brand.

This just means they’ll be growing chickpeas in Greenland.

I used to live in the desert Southwest and couldn’t grow sweet peas. Who knew it was global warming?

In fact, you couldn’t raise hell in that climate with a club and a barrel of whiskey. All because of global warming. Silly me.
