My opinion is very easy for me to understand.
I know more about Bond than you do back story and all. I saw the play on live TV Casino Royale starring Barry nelson an american.
I am not locked into the canon. If you want let him be a nephew. i really don’t care. I named two actors i would like to see in the role. That’s my opinion.
This is the problem. As long as the choice is not white, its all good. That is what all of this boils down to. If a white role goes to a dark person that is great. If a black role goes to a black persons, that is great. If any role goes to a dark person, the media or special interests are ABSOLUTELY FINE.
But if too many white roles go to whites, its bad. If any darker character roles go to whites, its bad.
So casting white people is bad. White people are clearly thought of as not equal to darker people. I feel bad for my children who mostly are pretty white. Why cant all colors of people be ok, like Martin Luther King wanted? Why doesnt content of your character, or your acting skill, even matter these days?
Why not? The last "Little Orphan Annie" was black.
One’s own opinion is always very easy for one to understand. That doesn’t make it dispositive. I have read every James Bond book out there. I have also seen every movie. I am not quite sure how referencing a Norwegian actor playing James Bond has any relevance whatsoever to discussing whether a black person should play the role. There is no problem with a “White, American actor” portraying a “white, english” character unless the actor cannot pull off the accent.
I like Idris Elba and enjoy his acting. I would like to see him in just about anything including a OO treatment where his not James Bond. The world is more than tired of the shoehorning of minorities into white roles while being lectured about the sanctity of black/color roles being forever off limits to whites. I don’t disagree with your appreciation of Eldra as an actor but I think your desire to see him as Bond perpetuates a problem that needs to go away and not be perpetuated.
Why not? The last "Little Orphan Annie" was black.
The problem with many african-americans is that theyre neither.
and we're talking Southern Tier of NYS here...not a large black population....
the only shows where blacks are truly underrepresented are the crime shows, where every perp is white and every black is the sainted victim...
it asked you what your race was, and preceeded to name "white" followed by seemingly every nationality on earth...
we are "white" while others are Filipino, Vietnames, Chinese, pacific islander, etc etc...
Then you daughter a White supremiss.
Apparently since disney portrayed her as a POC the role can never go to a White Person again.
I been calling them “blackfricans”
Yes, apparently from watching Britannia, the average Roman centurion that invaded Britain was black african.
Regardless, Annabella sure got gyped.
What if she auditions for a role in a black play/musical-doesn’t get it-and sues claiming ‘cultural discrimination’? If color is all that matters just don’t bother with auditions, give it to the first black student trying out and be done with it. Talent, obviously, doesn’t matter-just race. And I thought all people were the same. Guess not.
Back in the day, Billy Dee Williams would have been a perfect Bond.(Not that I care for the series) Now, I could see Shemar Moore-biracial(satisfying both races) and gorgeous-IMO.
yes sophisticated
On Tudors when Henry VIII meets Francis I of France on The Field of the Cloth of Gold giddy up
And you notice all these black noblemen in satin puffery in 1520
Not North African but Bantu looking
Its just so silly
Commercials are all today a majority of mixed race coupling
Just in past year or so Id wager it gone up 5 to 10 fold
Eat your heart out, Nancy Pelosi.
The last time I was in Greece, I was constantly running into gypsies asking for money. They were dark-complexioned. I believe it has been shown that their language derives from India.
