With a much-debated House Intelligence Committee memo on the verge of public release, it is becoming more apparent that a cabal in the administration of former President Barack Obama improperly targeted then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 election, a former FBI administrator said Wednesday.
President Trump told members of Congress on his way out of the Capitol following Tuesdays State of the Union address that he 100 percent would allow the declassification of the memo, which was prepared by the staff of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.). It details alleged abuses by the national security apparatus.
Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe announced his retirement on Monday, one day after FBI Director Christopher Wray read the secret memo.
James Kallstrom, former deputy director of the FBI, predicted on "The Laura Ingraham Show" Wednesday morning that Americans are going to recoil the more they learn about how then-CIA Director John Brennan, then-FBI Director James Comey and others arranged for the surveillance of Trump associates during the campaign.
"We're going to see the whole breadth and scope of this cabal that, unfortunately, involves the leadership of the FBI, leadership over the Justice Department," he said. "I'm sure that we're going to see John Brennan and his wacky ways It's not gonna be a pretty picture, but it's the kind of thing that we have to look at, and we have to straighten out."
Kallstrom said he hopes the result is indictments of former officials who abused their power.
"The whole thing is scary, Laura. The whole thing is outrageous," he said. "I mean, from the fact that Comey and his sycophants conducted this phony investigation they carried it on for months and months and months. I mean, there was no grand jury. It was a farce. They shut down any investigation in the field offices. They brought it all into headquarters, you know, where they could control it."
Indications are that the memo details the extent to which the FBI used opposition research paid for by Democrat Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee to get warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to eavesdrop on conversations between Trump campaign aides and Russians.
National security officials have concluded that Russia meddled in the 2016 campaign, and special counsel Robert Mueller has been trying to find evidence of wrongdoing by the Trump campaign. Although his team has indicted four people, however, none of the charges deal directly with Russian interference in the campaign.
Kallstrom rejected arguments from congressional Democrats that releasing the memo would undermine national security by exposing secrets that could disclose sources of confidential information and methods used to gather that information.
"It's actually the opposite. You know, I think we shined some light on what went on in the Obama administration, you know, particularly in the last year, you know, when Donald Trump became the nominee and even before that," he said. "And I think we're going to see that there was just an absolute overreaction. They did not follow the rules, did not follow the law. You know, they were so confident that Hillary Clinton was going to be the president that they were willing to take these outrageous acts because they thought sun would never shine on those."
Kallstrom also criticized Republican congressional leaders for playing along with the Russia probe and not pushing back.
"It's just outrageous the lack of support they've given to the White House," he said.
A GITMO exclusive feature.
Great post by Sam on another thread
1. The Nunes memo deliberately omitted certain information in the interest of national security.
2. This FBI statement claims the memo should not be made public because it has material omissions of fact.
The material omissions of fact in #2 are the omissions described in #1.
I was quoting Alberta’s Child
Thank you, Alberta’s Child, for your brilliant insight.
So its a footwasher and we can’t see the can. Whew.
That is a dicey one isn’t it.
IMO every investigation that McCabe has been assigned as lead needs to be reviewed. I believe he was lead on Las Vegas shooting and that seems to be a government false flag cover-up.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for the kudos!

Right at the top of the heaping pile of steaming BS was the Communist, John Brennan, touting publicly on MSM networks the credibility of the dossier. I believe Brennan played a major role in this coup attempt. Creating and orchestrating the phony story was bad enough, but the traitors used the color of their official government positions to lend credibility to a fraud, not only to the American public but to the FISA court.
I’ve been pretty sure that Trump knew everything from Day 1.
>>Every crime of the Kenyanesian Usurpation was made possible by people within the GOP.
Many people within the GOP.<<
Yep. Self-serving, hypocritical, RINO enablers. Gutless bas-turds are a disgrace.
>>Wow! Is that what a jailhouse crapper looks like? I never knew.<<
Perhaps sometime in the near future the world will be treated to a leaked photo of Bill’s wife squatting over one of those holes in the floor.
Im not much of a conspiracy theorist, but no doubt in my mind that a missle brought down TWA-800
Boeing and TWA paid out about $500 million in claims even though the had defenses that could have limited the damages to a far smaller number. It is my opinion that the federal government found a way to reimburse Boeing for the money they paid out.
That’s my take too.
I think you let the truth out and take your lumps.
To destroy your credibility with the American people is more destructive.
I wouldn’t be surprised. They needed a fall guy.
The excuse given, a faulty fuel tank electrical short, sheer lunacy that they thought that would fly.
That’s what I figured.
So what gives...?
Or how much the GOPe wants known for what they helped to do— we don’t know who might have been gifted with the surveillance info by hitlery and company— those of the hitlery deep state attempting to steer the competition. You know, the “close” friendship that devsseloped out of the blue between the bushes and the clintoons-— and the huggie kissies at the inauguration between the bushes and the obamaumaos. A revelation, united by Jeb!’s loss in the primaries— might have been the shock of the life for hitlery in not having yet another designated loser. Perhaps Romney has heard from Trump about what was done to him by obamaumao.
"It's just outrageous the lack of support they've given to the White House," he said.
YES, IT IS INDEED OUTRAGEOUS! Gotta work to make RINOs an endangered species; maybe keep two or three so we can easily recall why we hunted them to near-extinction.
I’m thinking he did, too... this might be crazy but then this whole Russia thing has been crazy in spades. Remember that line about menstrual? blood Trump tweeted that was so weird? Wasn’t that during his kerfluffle with Megyn Kelly?
There was an accusation made by some FBI agents concerning Gitmo “detainee abuse” where they said one of the interrogators was a woman who wiped fake menstrual blood on a detainee during a session [she wiped red ink on the guy after he spit on her and just told him it was women’s blood]. This and other misleading or outright false allegations by said “FBI agents” sent idiots like Dick Durbin into fits of carefully choreographed rage. This was supposed to horrify the reader, etc. Could it be he was hinting at that? I forget what context it was in with Kelly but maybe it has to do with who leaked the menstrual blood claim [which seems a lot like the golden showers claim] and who all reported everything that was claimed.
The leak about how allegedly bad interrogators at Gitmo were was in an article where one of Lisa Page’s and Peter Strzok’s favorite go-to reporter “contributed.”
I’m betting his “contribution” to the article was the crap attributed to unnamed FBI agents and a lawyer [Page is an FBI lawyer.]
I would not be surprised if Strzok was the same FBI source on that or at least someone on the “Skinny Team.” [Unless the reporter has an awful lot of FBI leakers in his resource stable.]
Another allegation the agents made was that interrogators told detainees they were FBI. I can see where the high and mighty like Comey would take offense at military interrogators claiming to be FBI.
Notice how Feinstein even recently brought up closing Gitmo; she’s being pressured by some donor with a stake in the matter.
