I can’t evaluate his Spanish, but he did serve in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic for two years and is said by some to speak fluent Spanish.
OK= apparently the report was that Spanish speakers did evaluate his Spanish and found it...lacking
Maybe he spoke too much scotch or hung out too much with mary jane while he was in the DR

I thought his Spanish sounded stilted- like a non-speaker reading the words. He may be fluent but he certainly doesn’t sound like a person who speaks the language in a natural way.
