breaking: DOJ Inspector General CANCELS Tuesday’s Congressional Briefing on FBI’s Mis-TRUNC

Department of Justice Inspector General canceled his Tuesday Congressional briefing on the FBI’s Clinton investigation.

Earlier today Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was removed from his post at the FBI.

This came the day after FBI Director visited Capitol Hill to read the 4-page House Intelligence FISA memo.

But the New York Times said McCabe’s resignation was linked to the Inspector General’s briefing that was planned on Tuesday.

In a recent conversation, Christopher A. Wray, the F.B.I. director, raised concerns about a forthcoming inspector general report examining the actions of Mr. McCabe and other senior F.B.I. officials during the 2016 presidential campaign, when the bureau was investigating both Hillary Clinton’s email use and the Trump campaign’s connections to Russia. In that discussion, according to one former law enforcement official close to Mr. McCabe, Mr. Wray suggested moving Mr. McCabe into another job, which would have been a demotion. Instead, the former official said, Mr. McCabe chose to leave. His departure was not announced at the bureau, leaving agents to learn of it from news reports.

But the plans have changed.

Inspector General Horowitz cancelled his Tuesday Congressional briefing on the FBI’s mishandling of the Clinton investigation.

I am waiting for the sperm stain on the blue dress. That was one of the most satisfying experiences of my adult life when there he was, Bill Clinton, with sperm all over his face, and at that point the media could do nothing to help him.

We’re talking about the IG reporting to Congress on his own report. Based on what he has learned today, he probably knows he can’t share it anymore in a committee hearing. It may end up before a grand jury at some point.

But it's not up to the IG to make that call. It's up to Congress (they can limit funding) and it's up to the executive branch (they are the ones who impanel a grand jury).

-- That puts me in mind of the fact that Jeff Sessions was out there defending the "honor and integrity" of the FBI and the DOJ against "unfair criticisms" just days ago. --

Why yes, he did. And he had more to say on the subject of institutional correction at the same time.

The only reason I don't generally defend Sessions on FR is that it's a fool's errand. The lay of the land here is that Sessions is crap. I vigorously disagree, but am not going to waste my time defending my opinion, in a venue that is effectively meaningless. I can remark on other topics, and save myself incoming barbs.

I don't control your opinions, and you don't control mine.

With that delivery, I’d say yes he was. And he is enjoying doing it.

I read McCabe is taking a leave of absence so he can retire in March.

Yup. McCabe has not been terminated. That unfortunate circumstance is on Wray.

The IG may have already retained his own attorney in this matter. It would be grossly irresponsible for Congress to demand information from someone whose testimony may undermine a criminal case against a pr!ck like McCabe.

Congress will get the information they want. They just won't get it tomorrow.

That was before today. Today, all his leaves were cancelled. I really hope he was escorted from the building, but I've heard he didn't even show up to work today. Meow!

Wray does not seem to have the public’s interest at heart. He’s lobbying the White House not to release the memo and is concerned about the IG report. He’s protecting his own.

Rep. Matt Gaetz = Newt 2.0

Gaetz is brilliant. We are fortunate to have him. His is very bright. Evident in all his interviews. He's been a sleeper in the process of hitting prime time.

He leaves leftist liberal interviewers like jake tapper ... tongue tied. Very impressed.

Rep. Matt Gaetz = Newt 2.0 - it's happening. Just watch Gaetz's interviews on liberal media. He is the disarming smartest guy in the room. He does't offend the Left, rather he just schools them in a very professional manner. Star is born. Newt 2.0

They should get a court order and then send the US Marshals over there.

More
I dare @NBC @CBS @ABC @CNN @MSNBC @PBS @NPR @CSPAN to air this video in light of the memo that is about to be released. This was a coup attempt by the DOJ and FBI to ensure a Hillary victory and if she lost to frame Trump on a false charge. #ReleaseTheMemo

The IG doesn't prosecute. It's not up to the IG to determine if it's responsible for Congress to see the information. Again it's up to Congress and the Executive Branch.

It’s TREASON to attempt to overthrow the Government.

Well... then they are guilty because the overthrow occurred. The COUP happened. We are now trying to reverse that.

I hope your daughter is sophisticated. A lot of the stuff floated on threads like this is pure speculation. A person trying to make sense of this has to carefully weigh the evidence and hold a lot of things in abeyance until they are confirmed.

For instance, I pointed out to my family that there are supposedly lots of indictments already prepared. But we have no way of knowing and there is too much chance that the rumor is simply the result of wishful thinking.

It’s good to start with the things that we “know”. For instance, (1)there is a four page memo which the Dems clearly do not want to see the light of day. (2) The MSM didn’t even mention it until it was clear that it would not go away. (3) McCabe has left the FBI.

Things we don’t know: (1) are the contents of the four page memo truthful, (2) why did McCabe resign? Speculation had been that Wray ushered him out due to the memo, but people on this thread think it might be due to the IG report that has now been cancelled.

Call it all the “fog of war”.
