Department of Justice Inspector General canceled his Tuesday Congressional briefing on the FBI’s Clinton investigation.
Earlier today Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was removed from his post at the FBI.
This came the day after FBI Director visited Capitol Hill to read the 4-page House Intelligence FISA memo.
But the New York Times said McCabe’s resignation was linked to the Inspector General’s briefing that was planned on Tuesday.
In a recent conversation, Christopher A. Wray, the F.B.I. director, raised concerns about a forthcoming inspector general report examining the actions of Mr. McCabe and other senior F.B.I. officials during the 2016 presidential campaign, when the bureau was investigating both Hillary Clinton’s email use and the Trump campaign’s connections to Russia. In that discussion, according to one former law enforcement official close to Mr. McCabe, Mr. Wray suggested moving Mr. McCabe into another job, which would have been a demotion. Instead, the former official said, Mr. McCabe chose to leave. His departure was not announced at the bureau, leaving agents to learn of it from news reports.
But the plans have changed.

How do you even start explaining this? My sweet college age daughter is conservative but politics is just not on her radar, but she said she wants to get up to speed and start understanding this whole huge scandal thats just starting to be reported. I dont even know where to begin on explaining all this and Ive been on FR for a long long time. Its so huge and convoluted and multilayered. Anyplace she could go to get a good straightforward explanation of just the major scandals? (I guess starting with the whole spying on political opponents, framing the president in a soft coup, and the on from there). If anyone can suggest a good blog that steps through everything in an understsndable way that would be great.
We’re talking about the IG reporting to Congress on his own report. Based on what he has learned today, he probably knows he can’t share it anymore in a committee hearing. It may end up before a grand jury at some point.

What Trump campaign’s connections to Russia? It’s been a whole year and NOTHING has been found because NOTHING is there. It’s all a hoax invented by Hitlery and her minions to explain her election defeat (despite the RATS best efforts to steal it).
Disband this criminal gang called the FBI. Wray is just another lackey director in a long line of them. Wasn’t Wray Assistant Attorney General under George W. Bush? That speaks volumes.
Under Chapter 75 of the Civil Service Reform Act, Wray could have given McCabe a bad conduct based 30 day termination notice, and you're right, it should have been months ago.

You know, it’s one thing when we read between the lines and draw conclusions about events and circumstances. It’s another altogether when those suspicions are shown to be true, after all.
It’s incomprehensible that an FBI official would set out to change or alter witness testimony in these circumstances, with the sole intent of overthrowing the will of a free people’s election.
I’ve thought about this a great deal, about the end justifying the means because of how deeply I distrusted Obama. From the first speech I ever heard him give, he lit my fears. Putting aside his birth circumstances (for the sake of this argument) I would have been equally stunned and enraged had a government agency tried to intefere in his election.
Principles must come before personalities or we lose our liberty.
What you are describing is sedition, not treason. A treason charge does not apply unless Congress has formally declared war. That’s why the last person convicted of treason was some Japanese-American dude back in the 1950s who had returned to fight for Japan in World War II.

I read McCabe is taking a leave of absence so he can retire in March.
