Exactly! Stupid parents. I know a lot of immigration attorneys tell me that that any visa can be turned into an upgraded visa for work or permanent residency with conditions. It was an opportunity and they blew it.
Why didn’t his parents take the necessary steps to have him a legal resident and citizen?
Exactly! If you are illegally here, you are illegally here and subject to deportation. People like this have been coddled and abetted for so long, they actually think they are owed being able to stay here. Time to GO
In all fairness do you think a 12 year old boy would know the details of a visa? I don’t object to immigration enforcement but I wonder if he thought the legalities had been handled by his parents when he was a minor.
He is not fraudulently documented. He had the right document. but that expired when he was a minor. It is because he had that document that he can be deported without a hearing. If he was here based on fraudulent documents (meaning illegal fro the git-go) he would be entitled to a hearing. He has less protection than a non-working illegal who snuck across the border. That honestly makes no sense to me. Why should those illegals not get deported ASAP as well?
“a bewildered expression on his pale face”
What bigots they are at NPR.
“Immigrants who overstay their visas are at a unique disadvantage compared to immigrants who illegally cross the border. When they apply for their visa, they waive their right to an immigration hearing if they end up staying after their visa expires.”
And I understand about half of our illegal Hispanics, from Mexico and points south, are visa overstays. Seems like this is fertile ground for ICE since they don’t have any legal recourse. They are low hanging fruit, so to speak. Border controls are harder to use when the illegals come here by plane. We need a biometric process to identify EVERYONE who enters this country on a visa, we need to keep track of where they go, and take action immediately when the overstays occur. And don’t tell me it’s too expensive.
Well, he is in the country illegally, what's so hard to understand?
Roofing is hard work. He probably dropped out so he could get a full time job and help support his child. There are people who leave high school because they know it is a waste of their time. He was 19 staying in an environment that encourages perpetual adolescence when he had adult responsibilities would be such a waste of time.
As for the arguing and a woman calling the cops. In this day and age many woman see any expression of anger by a man towards woman (even heated yelling during an argument) has proof positive that the man is an abuser. Much like people thinking if they see a child being spanked it must mean the parents always abuse that child. So take that with a grain of salt.
I have no problem with immigration enforcement. I do have a problem with a system that gives more rights to those who were here illegally from their first step on U.S. soil than those who did at least start out being here legally.
I think they should ALL be deported ... in fairness to actual Americans.
These people aren't being deported for a simple traffic stop. They're being deported for entering (or remaining in) these United States illegally. Every utterance of the left is a lie.
Are you honest to G-d suggesting the chipping of humans?
Who let the Irish in anyway?
There is an awesome scene from Blazing Saddles about this.
English joke about the Irish:
Irish dad catches his son snorting coke.
Dad says, “If you don’t stop now son I’m going to rub your nose in it!”
Next the Left will suggest traffic stops must end.
If written without bias the sentence would read. “The immigration laws are clear regarding those subject to deportation. Dylan’s status was brought to ICE’s attention subsequent to a routine traffic stop.”
“Are you honest to G-d suggesting the chipping of humans?”
Now what gave you that idea? I wasn’t suggesting anything of the kind. There are several ways to get biometric data so you can determine who’s who without resorting to chipping. My effing iPhone X has facial recognition software in it. You would not even have to touch the party involved to create a sufficient identity profile that could be used to accurately identify anyone. Even taking their picture would be a start.
That is my take too. I still cannot understand why his parents did not take care of this when he was 12.
Except if you read the article, he was picked up outside a jail after being released from being arrested for suspicion of domestic violence. Didn’t see any “traffic stop” anywhere in the text.
They should all get express shipment out of here.
Oh they could have done better,
A bewildered expression on his pale face he ponders the cruel fate that brought him to this gray dank jail cell languishing in a lemon yellow jumpsuit that hangs on his emaciated frame. How will he ever assimilate in a land that is as foreign to him as the dark side of the moon? Will his Americanisms label him as a trouble-maker? Will memories of Boston support for the IRA in its terrorist heyday mean doors shut in his face and a life on the dole? He brushes his hand across his blue eyes to wipe away the single tear raking its way down his woebegone face. What about his son? Surely without the guidance of a dad’s loving presence he will be attracted to a life of crime on the mean streets of whatever poverty stricken ghetto he and his mother are exiled to.”
You see. NPR missed a great opportunity.
Yep.
There is no reason this young man could not have done things legally. He chose not to.
I am getting very tired of people coming to my country and acting like our laws do not matter.
They then want me to cry when they are tossed.
Not going to happen bub.
