A South Carolina sheriff's deputy has died after a man accused of assaulting his wife "ambushed" and shot him and three other officers, officials said Wednesday.
York County Detective Michael Doty died Wednesday after he was shot by 47-year-old Christian Thomas McCall during an hours-long manhunt Tuesday morning.

When they turned into law enforcement officers, rather than peace officers, is when stuff went south forever.
Agreed. I’m not heartless but to pretend there isn’t an issue is insanity.
I have seen tremendous differences from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
In some places the cops are the angels. In other places, worse than the gangs.
I live in a small town and our local and county police are good mostly. There are a few bad apples but they don’t get chased off. It can be deadly. It’s unacceptable and as long as I’m more likely to be killed by a cop than a crook it’s pointless to pretend. Truth is truth. Next town over is bad. mRAPS. Really. Ticket happy. Thuggish. It’s cultural. I avoid that town and I don’t trust their cops. Any of them.
Mraps are the clue. Plus, driving like maniacs endangering absolutely everyone else 100% of the time. In Medford, OR, I never saw a cop drive a block without violating the law and endangering others. Spooky stuff.
Fargo’s cops were fabulous. And gay.
Prayers for these courageous men and their families.
There are a lot of rabid cop haters.
Most of them are dopers, or anarchist type libertarians.
But I repeat myself.
Or they have rap sheets.
Cop haters should live in a place where there is no law enforcement.
Strap on a badge and gun then tell the police how to do their job.
This is terrible news. He’s been in our prayers. I hope the woman he died protecting appreciates the sacrifice these officers made. And I hope the assholes gloating over his death burn in hell.

BTW you are NOT more likely to be shot by a cop unless you are that loon who makes your own license plates and drives around trying to create confrontations over BS.
