If there’s one thing I despise about politics today, it’s the very apparent double standard when it comes to the word “justice.”
As reported by the Washington Examiner, “President Trump tweeted Tuesday there’s a double standard in the government’s treatment of Hillary Clinton and her aide Huma Abedin, pointing to Kristian Saucier, a former Navy sailor jailed for taking six photos inside a submarine.
Petty Officer Saucier served 11 years in the U.S. Navy aboard a nuclear submarine. He plead guilty to the accused offense, he never attempted to shirk responsibility and accepted being held accountable.
Now, President Trump invokes Saucier in tweets, but what keeps Trump from doing the honorable thing and pardoning Saucier and restoring his record? Why is it that this young man has had his life completely ruined, yet folks like Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin go untouched – as a matter of fact, Clinton traipses about the globe on speaking engagements and writing books? Can President Trump be so calloused as to use this young man as a political prop and not take the simple act of pardoning him, which he did for Sheriff Joe Arpaio?

Can’t say as I disagree with this.
I’d assume the accused need initiate the petition for pardon.
Maybe he isn’t issuing a pardon because then he’d have to do the same if Hillary gets indicted.
He will pardon them and I have NO TOLERANCE AT THIS POINT FROM ANYONE who criticizes Trump in ANYWAY.
He has worked WONDERS and his back is to the wall trying to fight criminals at every turn.
He doesn’t need this now and neither do we.
He will pardon him, as soon Hillary is convicted and sentenced.
Wouldn’t pardoning him send a message that this stuff is really not that important?
Exactly, Trump can free this soldier in ten minutes, he dosen’t, he just Whines about his circumstance.
I’m not sure Saucier is some kind of hero. After he was interviewed by the FBI, he went home destroyed his camera and laptop and hid parts in the woods behind a relative’s house. Maybe he just realized he did something stupid, but that sounds like a guilty action.
I agree with West. Saucier should be pardoned.
I’d like to see even more examples of how security breaches by members of the armed forces have been handled. I’d bet we’d see many pretty harsh punishments for breaches far less serious than those committed by Hillary and her lackeys.

The sailor doesn’t sound bitter, just mad that he was in prison for a year, stripped of VA benefits and can’t get a decent job with this still hanging over him while Hillary and Huma still roam free. Claims he has PTSD, too. Go Fund Me page has collected $8K and looking for $20K as of 1/4/18.
He HAS a Lawyer; what’s the Lawyer doing for him? I have no idea how you go about asking for a pardon, but his Lawyer should know, don’t ya think?
You can capitalize all you want, but if Trump is willing to use PO Saucier as a political prop and illustration of the double standard of justice as it applies to the political class and everyone else, he has an obligation to do something about it. If he can pardon Joe Arpaio, he can pardon PO Saucier.
I remain a fervent supporter of the president, but I will not avoid justifiable criticism of him.
I do not. He knew the rules and he ignored them. I expect to be prosecuted if I do the same. People get prosecuted or fired for screwing up with classified information all the time. Should we let them all slide and just forget the whole thing?
Rather than pardon Saucier they should go after Hillary.

And for head explosion schadenfreude-al moment PDJT should consider adding: Scooter Libby, G. Gordon Liddy, Denish DeSouza, posthumous pardoning of Chuck Colson, and possibly even posthumous pardoning of Halderman and Erlichman.
Now that would be fun...
This guy violated the law.
It makes no difference what Hillary Clinton did, or whether she was prosecuted or not.
He was. He was determined to have done the things he was charged with.
He was sentenced. He served his time.
When you’ve committed a felony, been convicted, and are sentenced, you have a felony on your record.
This man was warned that nobody was allowed to take photos where he took them.
I’m sorry he has this on his record, but he made his choices.
There’s no reason for Trump to pardon the PO. He knows he’s guilty and accepts the outcome, as stated in the article. What would make Trump a hypocrite would be to let the powerful and connected slide... That and nothing more can be taken from this.
