“”””””””””I like Joe Arpaio, but he is 85 years old. That’s a deal breaker. I won’t weigh in other than that.””””””””

Way too old and way too polarizing. He will never win.

Stay on the porch, Joe.

I don't live in Arizona so I can't vote there. Do you live in AZ, if not than why not let the the voters in AZ decide.

I do agree about Sheriff Arapio though 85 or 86 is to old to run for Congress. He should enjoy the rest of his life

Ward brought this all to a head, when she began outpolling Flake 2 - 1. McSally might be ok, but she’s not who got us to where we are. She is, unfortunately, the establishment’s candidate. Comparisons to Roy Moore are stupid as can be. Arpaio needs to sit out. Ward has earned it, and she can win it.

...Congresswoman Martha McSally...

Wow wouldn't it be cool if McSally could do wet starts on aircraft carriers, too?

The Bush League Republicans are using Joe’s ego to get McSally nominated. Pull support form Ward, split the vote and the Cheap Labor Express candidate wins.
They have to have an Amnesty Senator.

You must have really liked Flake, because McSally is the female version.

Joe will get smashed in the general. The GOPe will kneecap him and he’s already probably older than McCain. Anyone of these 3 is far superior than both Flake and McCain. If the GOPe is 100% behind McSally then I’d just as soon have her because at least she’ll have the full support. Ward can be handed a gift when McCain admits he can no longer perform the duties of the job.

Arpaio couldn’t win a Senate election if he ran unopposed.

I don’t know about the Senate, but the race for Franks’ House seat is getting really crowded. Signs up all over the place.

Someone who was and is GOPe playing along with Trump and holding onto Trump because that’s how you win the election.

I'll take my chances. Compared to Ward who previously lost a Senate race and a guy that's close to 90 years old.

The problem with Republicans is that the Left is going to portray Republicans as racist kooks. A candidate like McSally isn't going to play that game - she's going to focus on the issues and talk about what's right for AZ and the nation.

Ward, on the other hand, will try to emulate Trump and get snarky with the press. Start calling them names. That might work for Trump and impress the conservative base, but it's not going to work with voters who are generally looking for someone who will look out for them.

Not saying turn into RINOs. But Republican candidates shouldn't run as Trump clones. Run as your own person, discuss the issues, be honest about your past, and call out any lies about you, and you'll win.

What an idiot author!

Anyway, the thing a sensible Party would do in Arizona is run a RINO and appoint a conservative to McCain’s empty seat.
Cheap and pleases the most people.

So the GOP will do something totally stupid: fight the conservatives.

Yeah, I believe he was defeated. I think it’s time for him to enjoy the rest of his life.

The “electable candidates” are not the Constitutional ones, the Conservative ones.

They do the bidding of the Corporatist elites that want the country flooded with cheap labor at the end of the day.

McSally is a RINO.

Maybe. But in case you didn't notice, Republicans only hold a razor-thin 51-49 majority in the Senate.

Now's not the time to be pissed at Republicans. This is why Trump dispatched Bannon, and McConnell & company seems to be on board the MAGA train.

who cares? That means she has the full support of the establishment and she votes with Trump most of the time. I haven’t heard her bad mouth Trump (even with this latest dust up). She is 100% better than Flake and McCain simply because she isn’t spending all day on CNN and the like bashing Trump.
