In the words of Ronald Reagan....
“Lets shut it down and see if anyone notices”.

all
one needs to know about gov’t employees can be learned at the DMV.

The Federal Government needs to shrink to 1/3 of its current bloated leviathan size. Operating Budget should be no more than 3% of GDP plus another 3-4% to pay off the debt.

We got along perfectly fine for 130 years with a Federal Gov’t that never was bigger than 3% of GDP. That’s realistic

Imagine if we gave President Trump the disgression to decide which part of the Gov’t (every part) was essential - That’s what the RATs are rushing toward !!!

The DMG is state government. Unfortunately the USPS isn’t. And that is a better example.

100+ years ago, our military consisted of some ships and militia men with muskets. Today we have spacecraft, satellites, tanks, subs, stealth aircraft, and other weapons that even the Sci-Fi writers of the day could never imagine. I do like the 3% GDP tie, as that’s a tie to number; as do the accuracy of then vs now, may I offer the following link

Rather rude, and uncalled for.

But I am NOT a union member, since you asked. As a Sr Scientist, I am exempt.

Congrats to you

And as I am over 55, I can say that I agree with you on the diversity issue. In fact I usually have a nice talk with the COL following the mandatory diversity training. I love to ask basic questions.

Like, please name 1 country in the history of mankind that became a Superpower of their time, that practiced diversity.

I will now name 4 Empires that took over their known world by using a monolithic cultural approach. Roman Empire, Chinese Dynasties, British Empire and lastly the American Empire. Each sought to make their world in their image; and the world prospered because of it. Furthermore, if Diversity was anything worthy, then diverse countries like India (1,000+ Dialects/languages, multiple religions ) would be kicking our butt. The USA would be cowering under the Canadian Defense umbrella.

My view is that those who preach diversity are demanding race and quotas to supercede capability, aptitude and experience.

I have yet to meet a Diversity Instructor that could defend their stance with anything other than “I am required to teach and you are required to learn”. It typically goes downhill from there. So, the COL tells me that I am uncooperative. I deal in facts. That’s what a true scientist does.
