Chances of a government shutdown grew Monday as Republicans concluded that they would be unable to pass a long-term spending bill by the Friday deadline. GOP leaders are now turning to a short-term funding measure in hopes of keeping agencies open while talks continue, but Democratic leaders say they are unlikely to support any deal that does not protect young illegal immigrants.

Clearly it’s the fault of the democrats. Donald Trump will make sure that the blame gets where it belongs.

Dear Mitch and Paul;

See Jane run. Jane runs to get things done. When she gets where she’s going, she actually does her work.

See spot run. Spot runs to bite Republican dick-heads on the ass.

You know, your ass.

Get off them, you asses.

No, they don't. And that's what pisses me off.

Ryan in April of last year passed another stupid CR through September, when he had a golden opportunity to pass a budget until the end of 2017.

These CRs are nothing more than Washington theatrics, so the sheeple can get riled up and then Washington can play the blame game for their election ads.

We need zero-based budgeting. We need budgets whose fiscal years match the calendar year.

Trump will never let up telling the World who shut the Government down.

Yep, fedgov shutdown won't extend to POTUS's Twitter account. I'm sure the barrage has already been prepared.

Let them shut down the government of the citizens of the US so they can protect illegal aliens from our laws.....

It really is breathtaking to watch. Democrats and some Repubs putting the best interests of illegal aliens over the American people, and are doing it in broad daylight.

Need to get rid of the filibuster!!!

As long as the Dems have an effective veto, they WILL use it to obstruct Republicans every chance they get.

Why is this so hard to understand??

If you don’t want the Dems to obstruct, then TAKE AWAY the tool they’re using constantly to do just that. It’s not complicated.

Fear not, Hodar! The good people you refer to are retiring in droves, like my wife and me. The people that really do the work are predominantly over 55, and are getting damn tired at incompetent supervisors who were given promotions on the basis of "diversity."

I already left the rat race, and my wife is joining me in a few months.

Capital Hill does no damage to Americans when the Government is shut down. Everybody still gets a back paycheck when it reopens It’s non essential functions that are shut down. Maybe they should be shut down permanently.
That has included Congress for years.

This is why there will not be a shutdown. BOTH parties want Trump stymied from making recess appointments.

What the Congress does best: feckless fiscal policies and failure to secure the border ...
kicking the can down the road yet again so they can refuse future attempts at responsible spending—a national debt doubled under Obama in just 8 years by such things as 500 million dollars to the UN to fight global warming—or to repel the invasion facilitated by that SOB Obama with such things as DACA, but done as well by his irresponsible predecessors.
Anyone not furious with the Congress at this point simply hasn’t been paying attention.
