Republican Rep. Mia Love deplored President Donald Trump for reportedly criticizing immigrants coming to the United States from what he called "shithole countries."
"I can't defend the indefensible. You have to understand that there are countries that struggle out there. But their people, their people are good people and they're part of us. We're Americans," Love, who represents Utah and is the first Haitian-American elected to Congress, said on CNN's "State of the Union."
Referring to immigrants from African countries, Trump asked lawmakers during an Oval Office meeting on immigration reform, "Why do we want all these people from 'shithole countries' coming here?" a source briefed on the meeting told CNN.
The President has denied making the comment.
"The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made - a big setback for DACA!" Trump tweeted on Friday.
Love, whose parents immigrated from Haiti, told "State of the Union" that she thinks the President's comments were racist.
"I think they were, yes. I think they were unfortunate. I don't know if they were taken -- I wasn't in the room. I know the comments were made. I don't know in which context they were made," she said. "I'm looking forward to finding out what happened, but more importantly, I'm looking forward to fixing the problem."

I agree. First of all, he didn’t say it. Second, why the heck can’t these morons just learn that they don’t have to opine on everything? Why not just say “I wasn’t there” and leave it at that?

Don’t believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.
Why don’t we follow Trump’s lead here on FR? Let’s limit posting headlines from these wretched Lying Leftist outlets. If this story is true and has some redeeming value, at least get the story from a reasonably reliable source, not from a known Lying Leftist operative posing as a “news” organization.
We should be mostly publishing the truth on FR, not the lies, and as much good news as possible to bolster morale. We should find and post reasonably reliable sources that have already deconstructed the lie and replaced it with the truth and with a headline that says the truth. We need much more of that on FR IMO. The key is the headline and the first few sentences because not everyone has time to drill down. The endless stream of negative, lying headlines sabotages our purpose IMO.

You should hear what the Antillians on Saint Maarten say about Haitians. Also, ever notice when some disaster hits Haiti that the Dominican Republic deploys their army to keep Haitians out? I’ve work with Haitian techs and engineers. They say the same thing about their old country.

As for this idea that anyone who wants “more” is an American: that’s ridiculous. If “everyone” is an American, then we need to start annexing land. Let’s fire up that Monroe Doctrine and Manifest Destiny again and start making them all American.
That means no more “island time” either. Americans show up for work on time and work all day. That’s how you get “more” out of life. I’ve worked around people from shithole countries. Lack of punctuality is one common quality in all of them.

I wish people could be reminded of the difference between racism, discrimination, and prejudice. Not every comment showing any type of discrimination or prejudice is racist.
