Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., on Tuesday released the full transcript from Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson's testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
"The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice," Feinstein said in a statement. "The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public."
The release of the transcript, Feinstein said, was supported by committee Democrats. The move follows committee a decision by Republicans Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham to issue a criminal referral last week against Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the largely unverified "Trump dossier."

Well, there IS a difference. The release has her name on it; a leak is done surreptitiously.
According to TR page 10, lines through 17 states " [Counsel Davis]: Finally, we ask that you not speak to anyone about what we discuss in this interview with anyone else outside of who's here in the room today in order to preserve the integrity of our investigation ." (emphasis added)
And there you have the real reason Feinswine released the transcript - now everybody else question can recite the same lies.

So far (through page 40): The name of Fusion GPS's bank and the names of their employees. That's about it. To answer your question, no not heavily redacted.
From the first part I've read, Simpson makes a very good witness, answers questions skillfully, yet doesn't come across as being evasive or misleading. Its not full of "I don't recalls", either.

I believe there was likely plenty of cross examination at the time, and under oath.
Since that closed door interview (Simpson), Nunes has now the records in his hands.
A legal wrangle was probable in any event and accelerating that wrangle rather suits me. Let’s not forget the R’s work the calendar the same way as Democrats, with regard to the next election (this time the mid-term elections) so, it stands to reason the R’s can drag things out to their advantage, but not necessarily ours.
