How Indeed Do You Defend Yourself From a Smear Campaign Alleging That You Are Stupid or Unstable?

In the latest iteration of the never-ending Democrat campaign to disrupt President Donald Trump’s agenda and to throw him off message, a full-blown smear campaign now is afoot alleging that he is stupid or, even more concerning, mentally unbalanced. This campaign initially must be understood in the context of two factors. First, the Democrats and their mainstream liberal media allies have leveled the same defamations against virtually every Republican President who has served during the past forty years. Second, this smear campaign is the latest in a series of never-ending Democrat efforts to find a weak spot in President Trump’s personal armor in the hope finally of unsettling him to the point of disgust with being President.

*snip*

Throughout the President’s first year, the Democrats and their liberal media cohort have pursued one campaign after another, aimed at delegitimizing the President and piercing the President’s personal armor, hoping to unsettle him and simply to bog him down with detritus that will obstruct his effective and focused governing. First, he was lambasted for supposedly suggesting in a debate that he would not accept the legitimacy of the election results if he lost. Then, after he won, it was the Democrats who refused to accept the results. First they demanded recounts in several states. After Mr. Trump emerged from those recounts successfully, often picking up more votes and further extending his victory margins in states he won, they publicly pleaded with electors not to honor their pledges to vote for the candidate who had won their respective states. Then, after the electors honored their oaths and elected Donald J. Trump to be 45th president of the United States, the Democrats and their liberal media cohort sought to overturn the Electoral College itself.

The MSM and the Democrats have never faced an opponent like this ever. All their withering attacks over the past year were supposed to have destroyed this man already. The Democrats one trick pony left the stall a long time ago, and now they’re flat out desperate! The few Democrats with some sense of integrity like Alan Dershowitz can read the writing on the wall for their party. When you’re slobbering all over the Oprah hoping she might run for president you know your party is in deep trouble.

Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. If I were Donald Trump this is the quote I would throw right back at the media and then just shake my head

“The best way? As Conan said, “Crush your enemies — See them driven before you, and listen to the lamentation of their women!”.”

I like the way Ann Coulter said it.

“Many of his primary opponents had the same issues with him.”

“opponents” operative word. Political opponents usually try to smear their political opponents.

My only point is this “line of thought” hasn’t solely resided with liberals and democrats. Which then make the article fake news.

It’s difficult to effectively counter these kinds of assaults but as George “Dubya” Bush showed us you will be stomped under if you don’t fight back.

Dubya didn’t fight back and democrats had a party.
He wimped out and let democrats convince the public he was incompetent and ineffectual.
If Dubya had fought back against democrat lies and subversion we probably never would have had Barack Obama as president.

President Trump is not only a fighter, he is a very effective counter-puncher.
He will survive this latest attack and turn it back on his accusers as he has done so many times in the past year.

Just the same as was successful against Roy Moore in Alabama; is being deployed against Paul Nehlen in Wisconsin; and is often used by (some) Freepers who attack anyone supporting liberty as being Pro-Drugs, Pro-Gay and Anti-Cop.

A negative cannot be proven.

Never, ever.

This guy, Michael Goodwin, a journalist with the NY Post, keeps saying that Trump supporters are falling away from him. (Goodwin claims to be a conservative.) I think Goodwin’s nuts!

Read about Reagan in 1982 if you don’t remember.

Approval in January-February around 35%. An “amiable dunce”. In over his head. Nuclear winter looming. And so on.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. If all current trends continue (and if the coup is stopped), he will be re-elected in a landslide in 2020.

The one difference is that his opposition was primarily among elected officials who had to face the voters. The seditious conspiracy by appointed civil servants and persons not in office is a new thing, which may require force to end it.

I couldn’t believe what I saw in my 401 K quarterly report that I received yesterday! 8 years of Obama I saw some improvement but this was gobsmacking.

False attacks are really hard to defend against when Satan is the ruler of this world. Note the crucifixion.

I remember before the 1980 election, the media had come to the conclusion that Carter sucked, and were allowing lots of negative information to flow about him and his pitiful administration. After the primaries, the media went back in the tank for Carter. After Reagan won, the media spent the next 8 years informing us how stupid he was and how stupid we were for voting for him...twice.
