Lawyers for President Trump sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump’s former senior strategist Stephen K. Bannon, arguing he had violated a non-disclosure agreement in speaking about his time on the campaign and in Trump’s most trusted inner circle.

In a letter sent Wednesday night, Trump’s lawyers told Bannon his comments to author Michael Wolff in a soon-to-be-released tell-all book violate Bannon’s employment agreement with Trump in numerous ways and also defame the president.

“Very weird”

Beyond very weird - truly bizarre. Bannon has been very supportive of Trump after he left the white house.

Has Bannon commented since this thing broke out?

Oh for God sakes. That is absurd!! How about free speech??

Bannon was an employee of the campaign. Employers everywhere have certain rights to limit speech, especially speech that is a matter of opinion, not fact, or that gratuitously maligns the product they took money to promote; in this case, a political candidacy.

Only if true ...we don’t know it’s true, and this book reads like total fiction

Calling Trump’s son a treasonous criminal? Unforgivable.

Bingo. This was his son. And no matter how ill advised that Russian meeting, it was a nothing burger compared to what Hillary was doing. The Trump family knew next to nothing about being presidential or the utter amorality of politics. They thought they understood sleaze and corruption. As Trump always said on the campaign, he had NEVER seen people as BAD as he was seeing in politics. Just horrible, horrible people.

I can’t seem to find it again now, but an hour or so ago, I read a WaPo (yes, WaPo) article that called several of the claims in this book “literally” untrue.

Bannon was the brains behind the Trump win and that’s why he was named Chief Strategist. Jvanka did him in.

Kellyanne Conway was the brains behind the Trump win. Trump gave her the latitude to name any post she wanted; but since her girls are still young, she chose to limit her role. She could have had Bannon's job, Gen. Kelly's job or Sarah Sanders' job.

What if Bannon is telling the truth, though?

There is no free speech if a non disclosure agreement was signed.

Bannon has been a consistent MAGA supporter the whole time ...a happy warrior even after his ouster .. my biggest question is why Drudge has been hammering Bannon for 6 months ? Does Drudge know something we don’t ? Now Don Jr. is hammering Bannon ...Is Bannon a bi-polar sociopath or is there something else going on ?

Interesting read :

That cease and desist letter is misplaced. It should go to the publisher of Wolff’s book which is due out on the 9th.

Keep in mind that this trash ‘book’ was written by the same numbskull ‘Hollywood Reporter’ writer who wrote the Murdoch book/stories...saying

Bannon would’ve denied it if it wasn’t true. The story has been out for hours and yet, nothing. Bannon has always been in it for himself.
