en. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) reignited his feud with the History Channel on Saturday after apparently watching a history program on another channel.
"Just watched history on An American Experience abt Thomas Edison the inventor Thx Comcast on Arlington Va Channel 19 DO U GET MESSAGE HISTORY CHANNEL???" the senator tweeted.

“If I could fund a history mini-series,”
Despite being a leftist William Manchester’s “The Glory and the Dream: The Uni8ited States from the bonus riots of 1932 to the resignation of Richard Nixion” would be another good place to start.
The left has taken over every institution, chief among them the media.
Any so called “mainstream” outlet is guaranteed to be leftist, anti white, and anti American.
Unless one is a self hating white, it’s best to avoid those outlets.
For me it’s gotten to the point where I hardly ever turn on the TV.
YouTube has so much better content, stuff from Jordan Peterson, Black Pigeon, Milo, Stefan Molyneux, Jared Taylor, ramzpaul, Mark Steyn, David Horowitz, etc.
If Grassley cared about the American viewing public he’d do something other than bitch about the History Channel programming, like:
1. Limiting the number of commercials allowed per hour on commercial channels.
2. Limit the number of “Paid but we don’t endorse the product (Info-mercials)” per week. It’s a travesty to present these half hour commercials as ‘programming’. Info-mercials particularly frost my britches!!!
3. Do something to breakup the cable/bundling monopolies.
Every time I turn on the History Channel when traveling, all I get is this guy. It's worthless except to help me understand a silly meme.
I watch “Knightfall” and “Vikings” on The History Channel.
Both are well done. They are back to back on Wed. evenings. I will occasionally tune in to “Oak Island” if I want a good laugh.
You know it's bad when the commercials are better than the programs!
I remember when The History Channel was called “The Hitler Channel”.
I’m still trying to find how ‘After Human’, ‘American Pickers’ and other shows are historic. Some shows are interesting.
I could do without the sensationalist music.
I agree with your statement, and would like to add my recollection of HBO and Showtime ran only movies that were released to them first right after the movie theater showed them. They used to advertise this as you could watch a recent movie on HBO or Showtime before they were on tape or regular TV networks.
Now they offer their own brand of sewer that is not worth watching at all.
We dropped cable about 6 years ago, stream only what we want to watch. Kind of refreshing not paying a big bill for 200 channels where we subsidize channels like CNN that we never watch.
Some day al la carte TV will be here. (Sling advertises it, but it’s false advertising)
Should be renamed The Revisionist History Channel
RLTW
It’s so bad on cable TV now that “AHC”- American Heroes Channel(used to be the Military Channel)has a “professor” commentator on its war history shows that USED to be man and is now - wait for it - a hideous looking “woman.”
Degenerate Social Marxism all over the “Entertainment Industry.” Perhaps we need a “Cultural War Channel” on cable.
The history channel spun off a new channel many years ago called the Military history channel. The majority of the History Channels viewer ship was for the “Military History” programs so they spun off a new channel to maximize their audience.
The Military History channel morphed a 3rd time and spun off another 3rd channel several years later. It is called “The American Heroes Channel” to broadcast new and original programming . Not all cable companies provide the Military History Channel and/or the American Heroes Channel.
If you gave up on the History Channel and didn’t pick up on the Military History channel and/or the American Heroes Channel you missed a lot of very good new programming that has been excellent.
You can stream most of their programs at their web sites.

Right now I’m watch “The Revolutionary War” on the AHCTV channel. They’re discussing General Knox’s seizure of artillery from Fort Ticonderoga for their emplacement on Dorchesters Heights to besiege Boston and force the Redcoats to abandon Boston.
The AHCTV channel has a free phone app that lets you stream their programming live. You can grab the app at their web site for free.
Yep, that’s “it.”
I love Modern Times.
History of the American People has many flaws, not nearly as good as our PHUSA, either in terms of his economic analysis or just his “getting” Americans.
But Modern Times is probably the best single volume book on the 20th century, ever. (Our “Modern World,” which is 2 vols goes from 1898-2013, so a little more expansive and obviously bigger).
If they keep us dumb down with low level programs on t.v., they can pump our heads with sophisticated commercials.
They guys on OI are just inches away from the big prize/treasure or revelation!
And the guy 'splaining the historical details scratches his head, spits out his chaw and tries to repeat what the guy on the telephone told him.
