Yep, once Nixon got into the White House, Vietnam became “Nixon’s War”, and all of LBJ’s involvement went down the memory hole.

My goodness, that IS stinking hilarious!! That’s one of the funniest things I’ve read all year.

Absolutely right!!!
President Trump is otherwise engaged in trying to save the world and MAGA at the same time.

I wish something would halt this outrageous witch hunt yesterday!!!
The mere thought of it consuming another full year is horrific!!!

"If Progressives had not controlled what passes as an "education system" in America, today's generations could not have been ripe for the pitiful "groupthink" they exhibit today!"

I agree. Modern American schools seem to be little more than Marxist indoctrination pens, complete with Red Guard enforcers.

Seditionists who push liberal agendas even if there are insane wars or want to start wars because they lost.

It’s the Hillary model.

With regard to the Left and their obsession with Watergate, Viet Nam, etc., a very wise friend once told me “You are as old as your last story.”

because it brought down the hated Nixon.
I still say the liberals hated Nixon more then Reagan.
Their view of Reagan was “amiable dunce”.
Now they may very well hate Trump more then Nixon.

And the thing is, Nixon was much more liberal than even Clinton.

“.. can someone explain to me”

I will try. Firing Mueller or coming anywhere close is playing with fire if not outright political suicide for Trump. I hope and assume that much is apparent. Trump is playing a triple or one strategy. STRATegy, Gibsonguy. The investigation, no matter how much of a PITA it is, is a fact. It exists. It would not be quashed if Mueller were to be fired.

Look, he or his universe or his presidency is under
investigation may either ultimately cause him to be removed from office or grind his agenda into the dirt. I’ll rate either of those outcomes as -1. Trump’s loss. Yet it is equally possible that Mueller will find nothing and just become the world’s worst ankle biter. I’ll rate that outcome as +1.

Yet, should Mueller find nothing, he is very likely to find material deeply incriminating to HRC, Comey, Abedin, et al. This is what’s actually happening. Because the well of material surrounding HRC’s email server; Uranium One, and this Awan deal which is going to explode at some point, is 500 times the depth of the process crimes surrounding Manafort and Flynn and even DJT Jr. And the quality of said evidence is much higher. ACTUAL emails, with dates and “classified” markings on them, not “well, Flynn might have moved his mouth suggestively to the Russian ambassador”.

Mueller’s investigation of Trump is a complete PITA but it should be viewed as an **asset**, because that is how it is going to play out. The longer the investigation is in place, the lower its overall credibility level. The more he indicts the Manaforts and the Flynns on process crimes, some of which long predated the campaign, the longer this goose chase is in place, the more items of interest will come out wrt the 3-4 MUCH more serious scandals the DNC and HRC are involved in.

Besides. What difference does it make whether DJT fires Mueller now or 6 months from now? That’s the real question. Trump would theoretically pay the same price in either event, likely lower, later. True?

Trump is playing for an exoneration letter from Mueller. That would be a quadruple. +4

The evidence surrounding the Clinton scandals is rapidly crystallizing into the very tangible, versus “oh, DJT had Russian dressing on his salad” crap.

This is in the nature of a very savvy RE developer. On a balance sheet, a loan, a debt, an obligation looks like it belongs on the debit side. Meaning, a detriment. Well, if it’s a debt that finances a losing business, it surely is. But if it is a productive debt, then it is a very real sense an asset. This is what Trump is fixing to do. These investigations are going to be turned into assets. They will grind the crap out of Flynn and Manafort and perhaps some others. That’s life in Wash DC. Trump will not be the loser.

The Democrats hate democracy with a passion. They only champion it if it goes their way. They much prefer dictatorship as long as they get to dictate.

In some ways yes, but let’s not get too carried away with that comparison.

And if magically Nixon looked like JFK, all other things being equal, the Left would have adored Nixon. But he looked too much like the “old guard” for them, and they never did forget his role in ferreting out the Communists.

So was society, different time, people still thought WWII/Depression-style big government was a panacea, it solved those problems so it can solve all others!. The WWII problem perhaps it solved, the Depression NO! However everyone include the GOP (The Me-too Party!) believed it to be so! My super-conservative father thought government was more a problem solver then problem creator.

Nixon was a much better human being then Bubba, Zero or Hellary
