Two professors from San Diego State University claim in a new book that farmers’ markets in urban areas are weed-like “white spaces” responsible for oppression.

Pascale Joassart-Marcelli and Fernando J Bosco are part of an anthology released this month titled “Just Green Enough.” The work, published by Routledge, claims there is a correlation between the “whiteness of farmers’ markets” and gentrification.

“Farmers’ markets are often white spaces where the food consumption habits of white people are normalized,” the SDSU professors write, the education watchdog Campus Reform reported Wednesday.

Funny ... used to be that lefties would be in a rush to go to farmers markets ... they’d oou and aww over most everything while striking up lively conversions with the vendors ... but I can’t remember them actually buying anything.

They do not want “markets”, those are capitalist and they charge a person for the food.

They want the farmers to sit it out there for free.

We know how long those farmers would be working, never.

Apparently, these two idiots fail to realize that the vast majority of farmers are....you guessed it: White!

Their claims and assertions have no merit and whom ever published their claims and assertions should be fired!

“Farmers’ markets are often white spaces where the food consumption habits of white people are normalized,”

Who wudda thunk?

Farmers and White People are NORMAL and consume NORMAL food in a NORMAL way?

(if we eat fried chicken, collard greens and watermelon, is that 'cultural appropriation', 'triggering' or just ordinary Racism? Oh, I forgot 'dog whistles')

It doesn’t help that they come across as mental patients in their rantings that can’t figure out the obvious (or would rather lie about it).

The biggest issue I have with farmer’s markets is that they are so over-priced. I’m on a tight budget and really watch sales to take care of my large family. If they were affordable i’d be shopping at farmer’s markets a couple of times a week. I love fresh produce and eat a lot of it.
