Ron Paul: Trump may be vulnerable to 2020 GOP primary challenge
Washington Examiner ^ | Dec. 27, 2017

Former Texas Rep. Ron Paul says a yearlong economic boom under President Trump is “a bit of an illusion” and that debt, inflation, and inequality could cause turmoil that benefits a “hardcore nucleus” of libertarians.

The libertarian Republican leader told the Washington Examiner that Trump could face a strong challenger in the 2020 GOP primary, especially if “things are really much worse."

“The big opening for us is the fact that this system is coming apart. We’re on the verge of something like what happened in ‘89 when the Soviet system just collapsed,” he said. “I’m just hoping our system comes apart as gracefully as the Soviet system.”

Bull s**t. It's not coming apart, this was no happenstance or a fluke. It's being *exposed* by the newly elected president! Just like he said he was going to do.

What delusions is this man having? I can’t believe there are people like John Kasich and Jeff Flake who think they can primary Donald Trump. Just shows how out of their minds they really are.

I have no idea just what the hell these two douches think they bring to the table.

Amnesty? Is that it?

How many Americans are pro ILLEGAL immigration?

Not even average American democrats are for that, either.

Hey Ron, you threw the best you had at Trump in the 2016 primaries, and he mopped the floor with you idiots. What on earth makes you think it would be any different after he’s spent 4 years kicking your establishment butts all over DC?

Actually I think they both truly believe they are highly moral individuals and that Donald J Trump is an embarrassment.
In their minds they think people in America would love to have the choice to vote for such stellar examples of morality and wisdom as they themselves purport to be. No brainer.
They definitely can’t see that the Trump Train has brought anything good to America because they hold it in contempt.

These are the same people that were constantly blabbing about a ‘contested convention’ which lasted for all of 15 minutes on the convention floor.

There are only 2 libertarians in politics with even the slightest credibility of a run for president, even if Trump does not run and the primary is open.

Justin Amash is the only office holder with any credibility. He would not do as well as Ron Paul did in 2008 or 2012.

Judge Napolitano would be stronger than Justin Amash but still not come close to Ron Paul’s peak.

So that leaves a well known reality TV and game show celebrity or an unknown name in business.

No way Trump can win in 2020. He's just in it as a lark. Even he doesn't expect to win.

Any and every primary challenger can beat him without spending the cash that will be needed to beat ( ) fill in the blank.

It says right here, and you can take this to the bank: Trump will not take the oath of office in 2021.

I, myself, am a Biden man. Nevertheless, I can get behind Pocahontas, and go all in if necessary.

I also think Hillary should take another run at it.

Just know this! Trump can't and won't win in 2020.

I'd explain more about this but have to get back to work. I just got a massive bonus and huge pay raise and have simple goals to meet.

Think back. Everything I said here, other than me being a Biden guy, was put forth as indisputable in 2015 and 2016. I think the pundits should wait until, at least, Jan 2019 before they start recycling them.

They say Trump has 46% favorable rating these days. I suspect it's really better than that. If he wants to run in 2020, his victory will be Reaganesque.
