Establishment Republicans Cheer Roy Moore’s Loss in Alabama

Several establishment Republicans cheered as the Alabama Senate Republican candidate Judge Roy Moore lost to his Democratic opponent Doug Jones.

Here are some of the establishment Republicans who praised Roy Moore’s loss in the Alabama Senate race on Tuesday:

National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman Cory Gardner (R-CO) said in a statement, “Tonight’s results are clear – the people of Alabama deemed Roy Moore unfit to serve in the U.S. Senate. I hope Senator-elect Doug Jones will do the right thing and truly represent Alabama by choosing to vote with the Senate Republican Majority.”

Gardner is toast in 2020. It’s POTUS election year and he’s running in a blue state with energized Dem voters. His Senate career will be over before he is 50.

I’m sick and tired of outsider pontificating on Roy Moore’s loss. If you aren’t from Alabama you do not understand why this happened. Moore’s loss was not due to Steve Bannon or Mitch McConnel, although Mitch McConnel was directly responsible for Moore winning the nomination.

Mitch McConnel threw millions of dollars into trashing Mo Brooks in the primary while virtually ignoring Roy Moore. No one liked the way Luther Strange was appointed and everyone knew he was a swamp critter, but he might very well have won if Mitch had stayed out of it. The avalanche of anti Brooks ads did manage to kill any chance Brooks might have had, but had the unintended consequence of suppressing turnout by potential Strange voters because they were disgusted by the obvious GOPe play. This allowed Moore’s hard core base to rise to the top. Mitch did it again against Moore in the runoff virtually assuring Moore the nomination.

Moore’s only claim to fame was his 10 Commandments stand. He started out by putting them on the wall in his Etowah County courtroom generating outrage by the liberal media, then parleyed that into winning election to the Alabama Supreme Court. He continued his grandstanding by placing a 10 Commandments monument at the Alabama Supreme Court and
defying court orders to remove it, leading to his removal from the bench. He failed when he tried to run for governor then managed to win election again to the Alabama Supreme Court where he was again removed for defying court decisions on gay marriage. His grandstanding has won him a core of support among single issue voters, but Alabama isn’t quite as redneck as the national media would lead you to believe. We are conservative but we (excepting Roy Moore’s base) are pragmatic.

Yesterday I went to the polls, held my nose and voted for Roy Moore because, as President Trump said,
we need the seat. I came very close to staying home,
not because of the accusations against Roy Moore, but because I have always considered Roy Moore to
be the political equivalent of a TV preacher. Moore lost because many Republicans simply couldn’t stand the stench and stayed home. Pretty much everyone thought Moore would win, so voters felt comfortable standing by their principles and staying home...oops! The “November Surprise” probably cost him the election, but it shouldn’t have been close, and with ANY other Republican it would have been a landslide.

Doug Jones will be in office until the 2020 election and will lose in a landslide. Take it to the bank.

The democrats bought and paid for Jones
Certainly he’s going to repay the debt
Gardner needs to focus on getting therapy for his daughter who was molested during his sweariing in, on camera , by Joe Biden

Dems now have their campaign template for 2018 and 2020. High minority turnout, relentless negative ads against GOP, pro athletes campaigning, media carrying their water, etc.

Asshats like Gardner won’t be so happy when they use it on GOPe candidates successfully.

Mitch McConnell and the Swampocrats got another Swampocrat elected to the Senate.

I hope Senator-elect Doug Jones will do the right thing and truly represent Alabama by choosing to vote with the Senate Republican Majority.

Two demonstrates things very clearly.

1)That the RINO's are absolutely, delusionally stupid that they still don't understand that the Democrats act and think in a completely different manner. RINOs are still convinced that a Democrat will act in a collegial, honest manner. Wow.

2) This statement clearly proves the RINO swamp masters did all the could to help elect Jones as they imply that he now owes them for all their assistance.

Is there any valid reason left to support Republicans? As far as I'm concerned the Republican Party once again told me that they don't want or need me. Good luck, boys.

That’s one of the lines the Rino’s are throwing out, that it’s not that bad and he might vote with the GOP a couple of times.

No sign of Allred. Just like 1992, when they took Bruce Herschensohn out. Having swayed the fools, the marauders scamper away.

I like the idea of sexual predators being kicked out of the society of the decent (I’m not convinced that Moore was one).

Such people are opportunists and will be opportunistic in areas other than sexual pursuit.

I’m not voting ever again for a McConnell backed candidate.

We need to vote for Republicans for Congressional races while Trump is POTUS.

However, I won’t be supporting the GOP at the state level next year. I will be “writing in my preferred conservative candidate” for important races like governor. What’s good for the goose...

Wishful thinking this guy Gardner has. Don’t worry, Cory, Chuck Schumer is going to turn Jones into another Gillibrand style puppet. You Repubics are going to have a long 2 years until the next election for state Senator.

Fox News? That was a channel we used to watch. When they get rid of Dana Perino, Shep Smith, Bret Baier, and Juan Williams, we may tune in again. Practically all of their anchors supported Hillary, and it shows.

I’m done with drudge now. After 20 years. He was hysterically against Moore. He can DIAF now for all I care.
